piperlime

Fashion has become, literally, a whirlwind. There are dozens of shoe trends to prove our point. Some are completely unnecessary (Read: Alexander McQueen's "Barefoot" pumps) while others can be worn day and night by lay folk like us. We've weeded through the good, the bad, and the just plain ugly to present the five shoe trends on our radar for this coming spring/summer.

5 Looks From Bride War Babes, Kate Hudson & Anne Hathaway - StyleLISTS

Kate Hudson, Anne Hathaway, Bride Wars

Okay, so, the last few months we've been completely bombarded with Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson, thanks in large part to Kate's promiscuity and Anne's horrible ability to pick boyfriends their new movie Bride Wars. In the flick, the two are "besties" who let their dream weddings get in the way of their friendship. A wedding in the way of friendship?! No! But then again it is The Plaza. (Don't judge.)

Anyhoo, since the adorable twosome is pitted against each other in the film we decided to do the same in a real life scenario. A fashion scenario. Namely a "Who has the better style battle: Anne vs. Kate." Anddd go!

Top 5 Celebs at the Inauguration - StyleLIST

The guest list for the Obama inauguration is growing daily. It's the hottest ticket in town, with several "unofficial" inauguration balls being held in the D.C. area. No doubt there's certainly enough celebrity love for our President Elect to go around! Check out our Top 5 picks for Obama's biggest supporters in the gallery.

Celebs at the Inauguration

    Oprah Winfrey
She declared her support early in the campaign, and where Oprah goes, America follows!

    Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon
There's politically active, then there's Tim Robbins. He was almost the victim of voting fraud on election day, but the democratic process prevailed...once Robbins talked to the press!

    Getty Images

    Spike Lee
The filmmaker, who will almost certainly be doing a biography of Obama at some point in the future, has been wearing his heart -- and his allegiance -- on his sleeve for ages.

    Getty Images

    Sting
Sure, he's British, but Sting turns up like a bad penny every time there is something green or progressive. And everyone loves the Police! He'll be performing at the Creative Coalition inauguration ball.

    Getty Images

    Rihanna
She may be young, but she is talented and a dedicated philanthropist. Also, she's been a huge Obama supporter, working to get the vote out. She's headlining the inauguration charity ball for Feeding America.

Five Ways to Stay Cozy - StyleLISTS

If you live in the north like we do, you don't need to be told that it's cold outside. The temptation to stay inside under a ridiculous blanket (like the one above, ahem) is great, but we won't allow it! Why would you buy a "blanket with sleeves" to stay warm, when there are more fabulous alternatives?

1. The Capelet

Retro-fever continues unabated. Throw on a capelet and channel your inner Ava Gardner.

2. The Oversized Scarf

Adding a scarf or a shawl adds instant class to any outfit. Don't be intimidated by larger scarves - they're actually easier to wear than the tiny ones stewardesses wear. In silk or wool, you're sure to stay warm!

5 Favorite Celeb Clothing Lines - StyleLISTS

Sienna Miller

Despite hard times, celebrities just keep pumping out clothing lines. And we keep eating them up. What we really dig about these lines in particular is that they are so similar to the designing star's everyday style. Readers always want to know just how to get their favorite celebs look. And now, with these collections, it is easier than ever. Even the stars themselves rock the line (check out the gallery). So who topped our list anyway?
