McCartneys and Yoko Ono Support Meat Free Monday

Just another Meat Free Monday. From left to right: Mary McCartney, Sir Paul McCartney and Stella McCartney turn out to launch this environmentally aware initiative. Photo: Getty Images

We've all heard of celebrities being vegetarians for ethical and/or health reasons, but the latest star push for the veggie lifestyle centers around climate change.

Yoko Ono and Paul McCartney (along with his daughters Mary and Stella) have come together in support of Meat Free Monday, a U.K.-based organization encouraging people to reduce meat consumption in order to cut carbon emissions.

According to Meat Free Monday, "The UK's Food Climate Research Network suggests that farm to fork is responsible for between 20-30 percent of global green house gas emissions. Livestock production is responsible for around half of these emissions."

To kick off the initiative, Ono and the McCartneys walked the event-appropriate green carpet at Inn The Park in London today (June 15).

Audrina Patridge - 'The Hills' Star Gets Intimate with a Burger

Gold bikini? Check! Giant burger? Check! Just another day at the beach for Audrina Patridge! Photo courtesy of Carl's Jr.

What gets "The Hills" star Audrina Patridge going? Apparently, an enormous Teriyaki Six Dollar Burger from Carl's Jr.!

Following in the fast-food footsteps of Paris Hilton and Padma Lakshmi, who previously steamed up screens for the chain, is Patridge (set to star in her own TV series) and her sexy and suggestive new Carl's Jr. ad campaign.

And boy does she put The 'Bu in Burger -- working a skimpy gold bikini, a SoCal tan and a bombshell 'do, all while consuming a burger almost the size of her head.

The sure-to-be controversial commercial will premiere on June 24, coinciding with the burger's release. Both will have mouths watering.

So, tell us in a comment, has Audrina dethroned Paris and Padma to become the reigning burger queen?

Sweet High Fashion for Philanthropy

Last night at the Mandarin Oriental in Washington, D.C, philanthropy-minded fashion fans attended Sweet Charity, an event to benefit The Heart of America Foundation's Books from the Heart program, which gives books to disadvantaged children.

The annual fundraiser includes a silent auction, gourmet tasting stations and an awards ceremony, And then there is the famous (infamous?) Des Alpes Chocolate Fashion Show. Dozens of well-known chefs use their culinary creativity to design clothes -- and decorate models -- with chocolate and sugar confections.

We have to take our hats off to the brave models who strut their stuff down that runway -- a little bit of nervous sweating could have meant wardrobe disaster!

Seafood Lobby Says Get Well Soon, Faker - Celebrity Diets

Filed under: Fashionable Food, Celebrities with Style

After his recent Broadway shake up, you've probably heard that Jeremy Piven adheres to a strict pesco-vegetarian diet to keep up his trim figure. According to Piven, that's why he not so gracefully bowed out of a Broadway production of Mamet's Speed the Plow at the last minute -- due to mercury poisoning. Well, now the seafood industry is firing back in an attempt to defend the safety of a slimming fish diet. We have to admit, they're pretty convincing.

Louis Vuitton pigs banned from art exhibition - Living sculpture

Filed under: Fashionable Food, Style in the News

Of all the bizarre works of sculpture that find their way into museums these days, where exactly does one draw the line between art and plain old weirdness? For the curators of the Shanghai Contemporary Art Fair, the line is apparently drawn at pigs and their body art. According to the Telegraph, officials in Shanghai decided to ban Wim Delvoye's infamous tattooed pigs, some decorated to look like Louis Vuitton handbags, after a slew of complaints rained in from China's animal lovers.

170 years of Tiffany & Co. is celebrated ... with pigs in a blanket

When you think of Tiffany and Co., you imagine luxury and opulence, champagne and caviar. But, that's not exactly what the uniformed waiters were serving on their trays at a recent party celebrating John Loring's latest book, Tiffany Style: 170 Years of Design.

Rather than serve hors d'oeuvres one would expect at such a fete, they served pigs-in-a-blanket. A nod to the weak economy, perhaps? Loring says no, insisting, "That's just American folklore."

Folklore it may be, but all we know is that if we were attending a party having anything to do with Tiffany, we'd be looking for snack foods we didn't tire of in middle school.

Brewed Chocolate from Cabaret, my friend

Cabaret Brewed Chocolate isn't what you think- assuming you think it's some sort of hot cocoa. If you think it's an alternative to coffee, tea, or, gasp, wine, then it is what you think and you're a genius. Congratulations.

Lovers of chocolate swear by the uplifting qualities that it carries. This school of thought is enriched deep in history. In the days of yore ancient Mexican cultures regarded chocolate as something more than a snack, it was an experience. Cabaret wanted to bring cocoa back. So they brewed it.

Being the fashionistas that we are, we don't want to serve just a plain old sheet cake, no siree. We want our cake to be memorable, especially if it's for a special occasion. And not that we have anything against iced flowers, but we want decorations that reflect our personal style.

We want flowers, and birds, and glitz! Give us whimsy, give us glamor -- give us Very Different Cakes!
