For Clive Owen, Armani is a Spy's Best Friend

Filed under: Men, Celebrities with Style

clive owenClive Owen opens next week in the romantic thriller "Duplicity," in which he and Julia Roberts play international spies who decide they can make more money exploiting a corporate cold war between two pharmaceutical giants. With those two on the screen, and a suitably James Bond-ian backdrop of gorgeous foreign locations, audiences may not be paying much attention to the clothes.

Clive Owen is sooo menergy!

Filed under: Men, Celebrities with Style

Last week, Lauren introduced us to a new development in men's style called menergy.

Because this is a new trend, I feel entitled to wax poetic about my favorite menergist, Clive Owen. Check him out, folks: the unkempt eyebrows, the real wrinkles, the lack of lip gloss.

He's so menergy. From his clothes to the way he carries himself, Clive falls somewhere between the pretty boy leading man and the grizzly character actor. He strikes a great balance between the gentleman and the not-so-gentle-man.

So as far as I'm concerned, Clive is way more menergy than Clooney. (Don't think I forgot about the Caesar cut that launched a thousand grooming products.)

But you can judge for yourself in the photo gallery below. Just make sure you take note of the non-waxed man pelt in photo three -- it's nice!

Clive Owen to shill for Lancome

Filed under: Skin Care, Celebrities with Style

Ah, Clive Owen, the sexy Brit who has been on my most beddable list since his tuxedoed turn in Croupier. Clive is the last person I would expect to turn into a skin care spokesperson. Selling liquor perhaps, but not skin care. But the rugged Clive is the new face of Hypnose Homme, the men's version of the popular fragrance as well as an anti-aging skin care line from Lancome. Anti-aging? Oh, Clive. But perhaps I am being female chauvanist, after all, posing for Lancome ads certainly didn't hurt Uma Thurman or Isabella Rossellini. Still, I prefer to think of Clive as the kind of guy who splashes a little soap and water on his face and goes on with his day, not the guy carefully applying his moisturizer and eye gel.
