Claudia Schiffer Lands YSL and Dolce&Gabbana ad Campaigns

Filed under: Style in the News

A mighty shift has taken place in the fashion industry: 90s supermodels are taking away all of the major high paying jobs from the new blood. All of them.

I want that! Jennifer Lopez in Dolce & Gabbana

We're convinced – Jennifer Lopez and Dolce & Gabbana are a match made in fashion heaven. Jennifer looks crazy hot after only recently giving birth to her twins, Max and Emme. She is always on the money when it comes to accentuating her hour glass figure and picking the exact right hair, makeup and accessories. It's as near perfect as putting together outfits gets and motherhood hasn't slowed her a bit!

And after all this time we still ask ourselves, is her ass really real?? That thing just makes you wanna put Sir Mix A lot on rotate.

• D & G dress, D & G, Sorry guys - as much as we want this one it was special made for Miss J to the Lo.

Katy Perry croons for D&G

Filed under: Style in the News

The fashion crowd loves to party. Like a lot. And besides the ultra-exclusive guest list and equally fabulous party decor, great music is a quintessential part of every news worthy Fashion Week bash.

To that end, it should come as no surprise that the sexy Milan duo known as Dolce & Gabbana tapped the girl-loving Katy Perry to sing her poppy tunes at the designer's showcase they held at their headquarters in Via Broggi last week.

Wearing a sequins number from D&G's spring '09 and clutching a bubble gum pink microphone, the American singer put on a mini concert for a bevy of models, power editors, and socialites. No word if she actually kissed a girl that night, but that's because everyone was probably too busy trying not to catch a cold, or something like that.

I want that! Ciara's Jimmy Choo clutch

Filed under: Celebrities with Style, Red Carpet Trends, Get the Look, Hair Cut and Style

Alright so did anyone think that Ciara looked completely smokin' at the VMA's? It was near impossible not to as she smoothly made her rounds in the dress du jour - a short, silver sparkler. Her Christian Loub's, Jimmy Choo star studded clutch, and black waist cinching belt made interviewer Taylor Swift swoon. So much so that Swift said out loud that she had an "outfit crush." Although that is pretty embarrassing to say on national TV, we totally have one too!

Although the outfit was so completely fly that we hardly noticed anything else, Ciara's faux bob certainly deserves an honorable mention.

I want that! Dolce & Gabbana strapless dress

The dress that Lindsay Lohan wore to the MTV Movie Awards was killer. We mean, the face and hair were a little lackluster, actually a lot lackluster. And we didn't particularly agree with the red nails against the purple dress.

But that little purple confection... mmm mm! It is D & G after all so we guess that explains it. Wow, those guys really can make anyone look good in anything. JK LL! LY!

I am so glad I didn't get into the party -- I met this Dolce & Gabbana model instead!

[If fashion is war, then consider Zandile Blay your embedded reporter. From fashion shows to stylish parties, she's there to cover it all -- from London to New York and everywhere in between. Read all about it from your favorite fashionista.]

Hearing the word "no," never felt so good. Last night, as I was trying to get into Paper Magazine's party featuring a performance by rap-star/fashionista Pharrell and his band NERD. Though I was personally invited by the magazine and confirmed days earlier, I was repeatedly ignored at the door. A lesser party girl might have taken this as her cue to go home, but not I. Smart move because by the end of the night I got to meet Tyler Riggs, (above) Dolce & Gabbana's next campaign model.

Claudia Schiffer is the new face of Dolce & Gabbana

Filed under: Style in the News

Claudia Schiffer has just signed on to be the new face of Dolce & Gabbana's resort collection. Good for her. This just goes to show that you don't have to be under 20 to keep working in the fashion business.

Ridiculously costly designer baby gifts

Filed under: Style in the News, Clothing, Celebrities with Style, Kids and Babies

What recession? You'd never know the country is in belt tightening mode by looking at the children's departments of upscale stores like Saks Fifth Avenue or Neiman Marcus. With designer names and totally impractical materials -- silk? cashmere? for a baby? -- the racks are full of high fashion and high prices.

We suspect that Suri Cruise is somehow to blame. Talk about the child most likely to become Claire, Molly Ringwald's character in The Breakfast Club, who got detention for skipping school to go shopping. Perfectly coiffed and dressed, she has a wardrobe full of Cavalli, Dior and Burberry. And she's just turned two. We can only imagine what she'll be wearing at 16.

Some fancy baby duds for folks with more money than sense, in the gallery.

Tip of the day: Be artsy fartsy

Filed under: Style in the News, Style Tip of the Day

We've all seen the art inspired abstract prints that are a key trend this summer. What we bet you didn't know was that the look is also an easy DIY project. Instead of shelling out a cool thousand for a D & G dress, why not do one just as fabulous yourself?

Here's what to arm yourself with:

Dolce & Gabbana, robbed!

Filed under: Style in the News

If you haven't been following the British press over the past few months, you're probably unaware of the notorious group of moped bandits robbing some of the most posh high fashion stores in the UK.

Luella Bartley, Salvatore Ferragamo and Fendi (just to name a few), have all been robbed of several thousand dollars worth of their expensive handbags, tops, and accessories.

Bleeding for fashion

"The dress is a rousing red, the color stroked on a white surface. But just as this rose-sweet outfit passes out of sight, there is a frisson of the horror movies that inspired it. Why is the lacy hose wrapped round the legs like a torn spider's web? Are those toothy fangs edging the pristine white shoes? And isn't this colorful dress drenched in blood?"

Designers come out to watch Madonna

Last week, Madonna finally dropped her album Hard Candy and every able-bodied New Yorker came out to the Roseland in Manhattan to watch the diva perform her hot new dance tracks.

Decked out in head-to-toe Dolce & Gabbana athletic gear, Madge performed her hit "4 minutes on stage with Justin Timberlake" while a slew of CFDA babes like Donna Karan, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler, Harvey Weinstein, Lyor Cohen, Tory Burch and Rosie O'Donnell danced along.

Meanwhile, right after her live performance, Madonna slipped on a Ralph Lauren frock and headed over to friend/photographer Steven Klein's birthday party at The Box where waiters walked around in Dolce & Gabbana underwear all night.

And who said you were suppose to start slowing down at 50?

Let Dolce & Gabbana design your iGoogle homepage

Filed under: Accessories, Style in the News

Google might be known for dominating the internet with it's mind-blowing search engines and algorithms and junk, but they're not usually known for their wonderful aesthetic sensibilities. Just look at their logo. Well, it seems that those days are over, and good riddance. Now, Google is offering users a way to bring some digital couture to their previously boring homepage.

You can class up your iGoogle homepage with background designs from names like Diane von Furstenberg, Dolce and Gabbana, Ron Wood (from the Rolling Stones), Jeff Koons, Phillipe Stark and Marc Ecko. Some of the layouts are better than others, but it's definitely a step in the right direction. We like the D&G leopard print.
