I want that! Ali Larter in Cavalli

As Donald Trump introduced his new Trump International Hotel in Dubai and Christina Aguilera's incredible set of pipes were bursting with song, Ali Larter strolled into the party in an amazing Robert Cavalli gown.

We do enjoy some Ali Larter for sure. She's a minimalist but always maximizes on color. This dress was just dreamy so we give her, not the Donald or Christina, a standing ovation.

I want that! Christina Aguilera in Miu Miu

Christina Aguilera isn't on the scene all that much these days. But when she is, she certainly still knows how to turn it on. Case in point, her Julian MacDonald dress and insane Miu Miu heels at the opening party of the Trump International Hotel and Tower in Dubai.

Though we thought the dress was adorable from the flirty front, it wasn't until we saw the sheer back that we went gaga. As for the shoes? There are no words. We. Need. You.

Santana and Mariah Carey in Macy's commercial

Filed under: Style in the News, Videos, Celebrities with Style

Carlos Santana has a line of women's shoes? How is it that I've never heard of this? As I was watching this commercial for Macy's, I kept wondering how they managed to come up with a commercial that featured a conversation between Mariah Carey and Carlos Santana. Before I realized that he had his own line of shoes to hock, it just made no sense at all -- why would Mariah Carey want to ask Carlos what stilettos sound like? (they sound like Carlos wailing, btw)

After watching this commercial, I'm pretty sure that Macy's has haphazardly discovered a next great marketing scheme, and it would work for just about any product. No, I'm not talking about celebrity endorsements -- but managing to squeeze Mariah Carey, Carlos Santana, Martha Stewart and Donald Trump all into one 30-second spot is pretty impressive. What I mean is having famous guitar players interpret fashion items musically. Just imagine Slash doing YSL's Spring lineup.

I was pretty disappointed when I went to the Carlos by Carlos website and there weren't any sound-bytes where Carlos had interpreted each shoe on electric guitar. Before I buy shoes from Carlos Santana, I want to know what they sound like.

Trump lets Miss USA keep her title

Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrities with Style

Miss USA -- a title that is supposed to represent someone who is beautiful inside and out, caring and well-rounded. According to the Associated Press, however, the latest Miss USA, Tara Conner, hasn't exactly been the quintessential queen. She has suffered some criticism for rumors about her drinking habits since she won the the title (while she was only 20).

But more importantly, Mr. Donald Trump owns the Miss Universe Organization, and he had considered stripping Miss USA of her title because of the drinking. But since Trump is such a nice guy, he's going to let her keep her title, with hopes that she'll be the "comeback kid."

I find it a little disconcerting that Trump has the power the make this decision. The real estate mogul really has a piece of so many companies and organizations. What's next? Will he be the one to decide whether or not the president should be impeached? Or will he even be the one giving presidential pardons?
