More cheap goodness at ELF

Filed under: Style in the News, Cosmetics

A few weeks ago, Sarah introduced us to the ingenious new company ELF cosmetics, which will soon be available at Bloomingdales.

If you are feeling stumped for inexpensive stocking stuffer ideas, I think that ELF's pre-designed makeup compacts by created by Allure, Lucky and Oprah's beauty editors would be a great way to go. Each coordinated compact comes with two eye shadows, a blush and a lip gloss for five bucks. The colors are all neutral, so each compact would easy work well on any skin tone. At five dollars, you might even buy one for yourself. Should you be hitting the party scene with one of this season's trendy little clutches, the ELF compact will give you all of the beauty back-up you will need without the extra expense of complicated packaging and pricey marketing.

One hint however: buy in bulk because the $7 shipping and handling fee seems a little excessive for a $1 item.

Do your Eyes, Lips, Face for only $1 each

ELF lip gloss on cell phoneA friend just tipped me off to a special promotion by a new makeup line called E.L.F. (for Eyes Lips Face), which has already received a good review by InStyle magazine. E.L.F. will be sold at Bloomingdale's in the near future, but until and its debut in stores, the company is promoting almost all of their products for only $1 each.

I haven't yet tried the products myself, but at only a dollar piece, I'm willing to try something new. Heck, you can never have too many shades of liptick, right? I particularly like the tiny lipglosses that attach to your cell phone!
