Eva Herzigova - Cannes Sheer Delight?

Model Eva Herzigova has never been one to shy away from unique and sometimes risqué fashion, and her choice of this shimmery and very sheer Atelier Versace dress for the "Looking for Eric" premiere at Cannes was no exception.

In theory, we're positively mad about the glistening gown -- it's flattering (not that it's difficult to flatter Eva's figure), festive (note the mermaid-worthy paillettes) and goes perfectly with her Chopard earrings (which is what really matters, right?). She looks every bit the blonde bombshell.

Only problem, when the light hits (a thousand flash bulbs going off doesn't help!), the dress is as see-through as Saran Wrap, leaving little-to-nothing to the imagination.

Should this look be reserved for the runway? Or is Eva's fashion choice bold and daring? You be the judge!

We recently had a chance to catch up with Matt Tyrnauer (above, with Valentino Garavani, Eva Herzigova, and Giancarlo Giammetti) director and producer of Valentino: The Last Emperor, which will be released all over the country in select theaters on March 18th (today!). Tyrnauer followed the legendary Valentino Garavani for two years, documenting not only his opulent lifestyle, but also his tumultuous relationship with his partner of 50 years, Giancarlo Giammetti, and his last days as the head of the house of Valentino. Elliot Spitzer does Harper's Bazaar, kind of

Much like the epic Italian Vogue issue that starred supermodel Linda Evangalista and highlighted America's addiction with plastic surgery, Harper's Bazaar is now using its pages to make a sort of statement about our society.

Just in case you need a re-cap (as if anyone could forget that easily), former New York Governor Elliot Spitzer had to retire two months ago for patronizing a high-priced prostitution service called Emperors Club.

And to immortalize such a scandalous event, the Hearst publication has tapped 90s supermodel Eva Herzigova as the troubled governor's wife and wrangled in a dirty politician dopplegänger to star in a fabulously styled Spitzer spoof. At the end of the spread, Herzigova leaves her super trifling husband for a younger and more attractive man. Oh, if only life could imitate art this time.
