Frederic Fekkai Salon Glaze Clear Shine Rinse: yay or nay?

Filed under: Hair Care, Product Reviews

I'm not the biggest beauty junkie, but I do like trying out products when all the magazines are touting them as the next miracle creation. Most of the time, I'm less than impressed, but when I do find a new addition to my makeup bag or medicine cabinet, it's so worth it. (I will never regret the $17 I spent on my Shu Uemura eyelash curler.)

So I decided to give Frederic Fekkai's Salon Glaze Clear Shine Rinse ($28) a whirl after reading about it seemingly everywhere this month. The silicone-based treatment promises it "binds shine, recharges color, and adds silkiness to the hair." Kind of like a DIY glossing treatment--which was just what my blonde highlights needed after a long summer.

Hair-thickening for women

Hair loss is generally considered a dude problem, so it isn't any wonder that women feel all the more embarrassed if they experience thinning hair. The truth is that women shouldn't feel that way -- 25% of women have thinning hair. In fact, the problem is so common that a number of high-end hair product companies have created specially formulated lines to address the problem.

Frederic Fekkai recently launched a revolutionary new line of hair care products to tackle the oh-so-common but oh-so-embarrassing problem of female pattern baldness. The Advanced HairCare More line promotes a healthier, more vital scalp, which in turn improves hair density. Using a patented niacin formula that feeds the scalp, the Advanced HairCare More line has been clinically proven to produce fuller, thicker and more fabulous hair in 90 days or less.

The complete line includes four products: a styling whip, shampoo, conditioner, nighttime follicle booster. The whole set will set you back $100, which seems a little pricey, but then again, compared to other hair loss treatments, it might not be that bad.

I hate hat hair!

With the East Coast in the middle of a brutal cold snap, winter hats have gone from "recommended" to "necessary." We all know what that means: hat hair has gone from "possible" to "guaranteed."

If static flyaways and lifeless roots are getting on your last nerve, consider Frederic Fekkai's Winter Hair Lift-Define-Shine Styling Compact. The name may be a mouthful, but what it does it simple -- it's the hat hair antidote. The dual sided styling product comes with a root lifter to help you with the flatness and a glossing balm to target unruly ends.

The best part of this product is the packaging. I love the idea of having a handy hair touch-up kit that you can toss into your purse especially considering that your everyday hair products don't exactly come in take-me-anywhere shapes and sizes.
