Just two weeks after Target dropped Richard Chai's Go International line in its stores, rumors began circulating on the net that the next high fashion darling to whip up cheap frocks for the mass retailer would be Alexander McQueen.

We screamed, but just before we began to take the idea seriously another designer has announced his new found friendship with Target.

Glamour reports that Thakoon has been tapped to bring his nerdy-cool aesthetic to Target shoppers this fall. Details surrounding the collection are unknown, but we're not really sure if we're excited about this yet, so whatever. While we've always been a fan of his pieces, we've always felt that they appealed to a more mature client.

Although we really, really love our moms, we're not trying look like them.

Rachel Bilson has a great sense of style - fact. Her look from the May 15 launch of Rogan for Target at Barney's in Beverly Hills is a great example of her classic, eclectic look that often mixes high fashion with low. She seamlessly blends a blazer with a bohemian style crocheted dress, neon bangles, and fashion forward open toe boots – a mish mash that probably shouldn't work together but do on Miss Bilson.

Our favorite piece here has to be those killer boots. God, we're such shoe whores.

We love high-fashion. And when it's on sale? Oh, my! We'll use a whole tank of gas to get that pair of black trousers or school blazer we've been eyeing all season via our favorite fashion magazines.

So imagine the smiles across our faces this weekend when we caught a glimpse of Target's ads promoting its upcoming Go International campaign with designer Richard Chai in the August issue of Lucky magazine.

Bargain shoppers, Target loves you.

To prove it, they've just enlisted two of biggest and most sought after accessories designers -- Anya HIndmarch and Sigerson Morrison -- to create affordable metallic flats and beautiful shoulders bags for you to show off to your friends come next fall.

But they want to keep you looking hip this summer, too.

Next month, Monica Botkier's diffusion line rolls into the mass retailer's stores.

A sneak peak of the collection has just surfaced on the internet and we seriously want to buy every single piece. No, really. We do!

So, here's one of the worst kept secrets:

Yesterday, Target confirmed that Jonathan Saunders will in fact design the next limited-edition capsule collection for its hotly-anticipated Go International line.

The line will drop, slide, roll, whatever into Target stores in October. Pick up your jaws, ladies -- we did the math, too: Rogan's diffusion will be making its grand exit in June and the Saunders stuff won't see the light of day until October. WTF, Target? Do you expect us to stalk Forever21 for designer knock-offs or something? What were you thinking? Goddddd.

Well, be easy darlings. Richard's Chai's cool girl uniforms for Target debut this August. Phew, that was a close one.

And you thought the green coverage ended last week.

Rogan Gregory -- the eco-friendly winner of the 2007 CFDA award -- has been tapped to create a capsule collection for Target that will roll into stores and online beginning May 18th.

The total collection of safari-inspired swimwear, tops, jumpers, and shorts is made of %100 certified organic cotton, linen, bamboo and hemp.

Attention, Target shoppers:

Joy Gryson, who's worked for industry powerhouses such as Coach, Marc Jacobs, and Calvin Klein, is partnering up with Target for a limited-edition accessories line.

Everyone now: yayyyyyy!

The collection will feature six different styles of handbags that come in black, green, white, and a kind of washed out blue. Each bag boasts Gryson's signature distressed hardware, braided handles, and intricate weaving.

The line will be available in stores and online April 6, 2008 through June 21, 2008.

And get this - (wait for it) - it will range in prices from $19.99 to $49.99. This is a huge steal considering her current line of downtown chic handbags start at around $400.

In the meantime, the highly-anticipated Jovovich-Hawk Go! International line hits the shelves of everybody's favorite mass retailer this weekend. All of the dresses featured in the bohemian collection are nothing short of amazing.

Seems like it was just yesterday when everyone was beside themselves with excitement over Target's new Go International line by Erin Fetherston. Now you can be excited over the fact that the line is on sale now at Target stores and on Target.com. I hit a couple of Target stores to see what was left and I have to say that the selection is still pretty good.

The great thing about Erin's line at Target is that the pieces will transition nicely into the Spring season. The orchid and lilac chiffon layer dress is the perfect dress for a springtime date. Just pair it with a white sun hat and espadrilles and you are ready to go.

If you aren't one for holding onto fashions for Spring you can break into Erin's bunny thermal top right now. An adorable thermal is perfect for curling up in front of the television or you can dress it up with a mini skirt and leg warmers for a fun daytime look.

However you wear it, shop now to get what's left of the line now before it's too late.

I usually don't get excited about Target's GO International lines. However, last night I watched Erin Fetherston's extended commercial promoting her line for Target during 'The Hills' (yes, I occasionally watch 'The Hills') and I was quite impressed.

If you aren't familiar with Erin Fethersron's style be sure to check out the video below. Her style is very girly and whimsical, so either you love or hate it. I happen to love it but perhaps I was brainwashed by the extended commercial.

One standout piece that is sure to sell out fast is the heart shaped handbag. The bag is absolutely adorable and will be the piece that scores you the most compliments. The collection hits stores November 18th, but for those of you who can't wait the collection is available on Target.com now.

Oh, and if you were a fan of Alice Temperley's GO International line you will be happy to know that those pieces are now on sale.

The past two Go International for Target lines have been underwhelming at best. There were just too many trendy patterns, theme-y looks and ham-handed references for my taste. (Stop using skulls people!)

Thankfully, Alice Temperley's new fall line redeems my faith in Target's GO International. Anglophiles will be pleased to see that Temperley has kept the looks true to the fashion sensibilities of her native UK.

The collection is not so much the wild street fashion of House of Holland nor is it the buttoned-up formality of Burberry. Instead, Alice Temperley strikes a perfect chord by blending feminine Victorian influences with a kind of devil-may-care modern street urchin sensibility. I'm especially fond of the way she has chosen to pair navy blue with black -- it's very chic, indeed.

Target released the latest installation of its GO International collection over the weekend. This time, the chic-for-cheap line features roughly two dozen looks from the east-coast-meets-west-coast design duo known as Libertine.

Using a simple color palette of white, beige, navy and black, Libertine's fashion forward pieces rely on a range of creative design twists to breathe new life into a few old familiar classics. For the most part, this old-meets-new-neutral-meets-bold conceit works.

What do I mean by that?

Consider the Funky on Fifth outfit: derived from a ho-hum navy blue pantsuit , the outfit has been updated with rose-printed shorts and a swinging contrast trench in admiral blue. Admittedly, when paired with the bow blouse as it is in this photo, the outfit looks costume-y. But I think if you wore the shorts and the trench with a basic top, you'd look be quite rakish.

Unfortunately, therein lines the problem with Libertine's looks -- they seem like caricatures of real fashion. The costume-y quality of the collection is especially pronounced when the pieces are worn as head-to-toe ensembles.

So the bottom line is this: the new Libertine line looks great (aside from the skull stuff and the capelet, which I hate), but just don't overdo it.

Leave it to Target to milk the Patrick Robinson line for all it's worth.

What am I talking about? Well, like its previous designer lines, Target staggered the released of the collection so that half of the looks went on sale the first day, and the half was added a few weeks later. Presumably, this approach keeps consumers interested long after opening weekend.

But marketing wisdom doesn't always hold.

Yesterday I took a peek at the second half of the Robinson collection, and it frankly left me very disappointed. A few new bikinis and a couple pairs of shorts aren't anything to write home about much less generate a second round of media hype. Granted, even the Proenza Schouler line felt a little blase after a few weeks, but ten days after the official launch? Now that has to be disappointing for Target and Patrick Robinson.

Or maybe it's not. If it's the Hollywood blockbuster opening weekend approach that Target is using then they're probably feeling fat and sitting pretty.

Just the same -- I'm ready for Libertine.

Yesterday, Deidre mentioned that Patrick Robinson's collection for Target's GO International line hits stores on Sunday.

Having learned my lesson from the Proenza Schouler early release last time around, I wanted to see if you could get the summertime goods on Amazon ahead of time. Sure enough, two Patrick Robinson pieces -- the mosaic mini dress and granite cardigan -- are already up for grabs in the Apparel section of the online retailer.

Alas, earthy bohemian frocks are not so much my style, but I definitely foresee Patrick Robinson's collection doing very well with the Target crowd given the way everything seems so breezy and summery.

Also: what do you guess think of the barefoot model? It's a little weird looking, no?

Late last week, Radar Online reported that the LA-based brand Libertine would be the next designing duo to create a collection for Target's GO International line. The capsule collection designed by Cindy Greene and Johnson Hartig will launch in July, but the clothes will only be available for two months.

So far, Target hasn't released images of the collection, but to get an idea of what we might expect, you can check out some of Libertine's past designs here.

Libertine is not exactly the household name that Proenza Schouler is, but I honestly don't think the lower profile will stand in the way of raking in major sales. By now, Target's GO International has such a strong following that probably any designer pitched as a big deal by savvy marketers will likely enjoy sold-out success.

I know that the Target website says that the GO International Proenza Schouler line doesn't hit stores until Friday (or Sunday), but if you are quick, you can buy the pieces at Amazon.com right now! Yes, as in, a day (or three) early. In fact, yours truly just snagged the plum bustier dress and the green tissue chain link tank. The plum bustier dress looks a little bare for me, but I have a hunch that it would look smashing with a brown or charcoal grey turtleneck underneath.

Of course, buying Proenza Schouler online is probably not the most prudent way of shopping since the sizes might be a little wacky, but it sure beats fighting the Friday (or Sunday) morning rush to the Go International section of the store. (You know that dress is going to be sold out before before the clock strikes noon.)
