Henri Bendel to Strip Down

Filed under: Stores We Love, Accessories, Style in the News, Clothing, Cosmetics

Henri Bendel, our favorite brown-and-white striped, high-end department store, is about to drop trou! The famous Fifth Avenue destination (which appeared in "Confessions of a Shopaholic" under a pseudonym and has a recurring role on "Gossip Girl") will cease selling clothing to focus on accessories and beauty products, exclusively.

It's not a total shocker since they are best known for their carefully selected, on-trend trimmings. I mean, it's common knowledge among the fashion set that if you need a hair accessory, you got to Henri Bendel. Period.

But don't fear that the 1895-founded shop is just another victim of the recession; they're actually rolling out six accessories-only stores this summer, featuring Bendel brand gifts (like an $18 box of tea) and HB beauty products.

So the good news, they could be coming to a mall near you!

The Fascinator! Booyah!
Fascinatorsnyc is selling a hair fascinator. A what? This is exciting! We didn't know our hair could be fascinated!

Why aren't you wearing this? Tasha Satin Rosette Head Wrap

Filed under: Accessories, Hair Care, Must Haves

We just finished watching the Gossip Girl season finale, and, as happens every Monday night, we decided we want to start wearing more fabulous hair accessories. Between Blair's headband at the wedding and her hat at the end, and Lily's flower in her hair, we are simply inspired.

And so, while we might normally overlook this Tasha Satin Rosette Head Wrap (available at Nordstrom for $68) as being a little "too much," we're really feeling it right now. Of course, this isn't a headband to be paired with undone hair -- this is something to be saved for occasions when you're really going for a look. Perhaps you could bust it out for a fabulous Upper East Side wedding this summer!

Erickson Beamon
People.com asks their readers if they would wear this Erickson Beamon spiked headband. So far 2% have said 'yes' and 98% have said 'n'." You might be surprised by this, but I totally clicked yes -- then quickly changed my answer to 'no' when I saw the massive price tag.

What would you guess an accessory like this would cost? My guess would be that this headband could be found at your local Hot Topic for a cool $14.99 tops. The reality is that this headband is $1,400.00 (yep, there are that many zeros in the price tag).

Erickson Beamon have you lost your ever-loving mind?

If this headband had a sane price tag, I would totally rock it with a pair of Taverniti So jeans, a white ribbed tank and sexy pair of heels. Sure I would get some stares, but how fun would it be to strut down the street with your horns and not a care in the world? So far no celebrities have jumped on the spiked horn headband bandwagon, but I am guessing "punk rocker" Avril Lavigne would sport it.

Sounds like a good time to me. But the real question is, Style Dash readers, would you wear it?
