James Bond's Quantum of Solace Sunglasses Finally Arrive

Filed under: Accessories, Celebrities with Style, Get the Look

limited edition Quantum of Solace Bond shades by Tom FordJust in time for the welcome arrival of springtime sunshine, and of course, the March 23rd Quantum of Solace DVD release -- you gotta love convenient marketing tie-ins -- the limited edition Tom Ford 007 shades Daniel Craig sported throughout the flick are now on sale. As it goes with most of Bond's attire, if you want to look like a secret agent for spring break, you're going to have to pony up like you've got an MI6 expense account.

Ash High Tops Make an Appearance in the Latest Bond Film

Filed under: Clothing, Get the Look

We've been a fan of footwear by Ash for quite a while. And if we're not mistaken, we spotted this pair of Ash high tops on Olga Kurylenko in "Quantum of Solace."

It's time for James Bond

Swatch 007Ha! See what we did there? "Time." Because this post is about watches. We're good, we know.

Super-watch company Swatch has released a line of James Bond villain-themed watches to celebrate the release of the newest 007 flick, Quantum of Solace. The watches range from childishly kooky (like the skull-filled Live And Let Die piece) to delightfully sleek (like the subtly eyepatch-y Thunderball piece). It is also a huge bonus that they aren't blatantly Bond-related; it'd be even better if they got rid of the tiny little "007" emblems though.

Melanie Bernier - James Bond StyleFoul!

Melanie Bernier is a gorgeous, young French actress who we've never heard of before, but she made quite an impression at the Quantum of Solace Paris premiere. We cut the French some slack -- they can pull off some edgier, funkier looks than most of us can, but this? Uhhh, no.

Sean Connery is the new old face of Louis Vuitton

When Louis Vuitton first launched their Keith Richards "Core Values" ads, we thought that they might be trying to make a connection between leathery skin and their fine leather luggage. Now, we get it. With age comes retirement, retirees travel -- hence they might want to blow their pension on a piece of LV luggage. That, plus the fact that the latest installment of James Bond films is hitting theaters this fall, must explain why Louis Vuitton picked Sean Connery to be their latest spokesperson.

Just in time to coincide with the premiere of Quantum of Solace, Louis Vuitton will be banking on the original James Bond's old time good looks. Connery was recently voted one of the "50 Sexiest Men Over 50" by the ladies at WowOwoW.com. Hmm, we think he kinda looks like a hairy leprechaun, but he should dress up nice in the LV campaign. Because, according to WWD, Annie Leibovitz was behind the lens, and we all know that she can work some photo magic.

Ralph Lauren: Martinis you can't afford

Filed under: Haute Home, Daily Obsession

We know it seems like a strange time to take a break from reality and practice the blissful escapism that is the American dream -- but why the hell not fantasize about a martini shaker that you totally can't afford. This entire week, we've been daydreaming about retardedly expensive luxury items like Louis Vuitton yachts. Maybe it's the turmoil in the financial markets, or maybe this Ralph Lauren cocktail shaker really would make martinis taste $275 better than the ones at Target.

We can tell you one thing for sure -- pouring a martini from this leather-wrapped cocktail shaker would make you look a lot more like James Bond. Might even make important people crowd around you at parties. It certainly looks a lot more like our vision of the American dream. The one where we float around on a yacht all day wearing Polo shirts, drinking martinis with JFK and fixing the world's problems all day.

For $295, it better turn Smirnoff into Grey Goose.

Man face: Rejuvenate it with Gessato

Filed under: Accessories, Men, Skin Care, Product Reviews

Do you have a man face? Most men do. It's a fact.

Gessato Face Treatment's cell regeneration complex is a lightweight serum to help keep that man face as boyish as possible. It provides protection for the neck and face, which is nice, but it is also an agent for active rejuvenation. It's kind of like the fountain of youth in a small pump.

There are a bunch of vitamins in the formula, as well as ingredients we have trouble spelling. Together they help rebuild the skin's complex defense system and smooth out wrinkles by naturally hydrating the face and neutralizing the actions of free radicals. Do we sound smart when we say stuff like that?

Gessato Face Treatment "improves skin tone and hones the neckline, reducing the unsightly effects of double chin." That alone is worth the purchase.

We've been using the serum for a few weeks now (as well the shaving treatment), and we've got to admit- it's good. Yes, we still act like we're James Bond when we call it 'serum' and sometimes we pretend it will self-destruct if we don't apply it in a downwards motion, but that's okay if we act a bit boyish, or face will back us up.

James Bond wept

Filed under: Style in the News, Clothing, Celebrities with Style

As a 00 agent, you've got to remain somewhat detached from you work. You can't get on with your everyday business if you're constant forming emotional attachments with people and causes. Tasks like destroying life and property may get easier with time -- but some of the things you're asked to do as a secret agent no man could ever get over.

For Daniel Craig, that unforgivable sin comes in the form of tearing up his beautiful Tom Ford suits. During the filming of the upcoming 007 thriller, Quantum of Solace, Craig had to destroy 40 of his favorite suits in the world -- and apparently it was weighing heavily on his conscience. According to him, it's a royal bummer: "it makes me weep every time... They are great suits."

I knew he was getting a little attached to the high end menswear a few months ago, but these new reports have really opened my eyes to one of the unseen hardships of making secret agent movies. Destroying even one Tom Ford suit has got to be the fashion equivalent to putting down Old Yeller.

James Bond only wears Tom Ford

Filed under: Men, Celebrities with Style

Whether you're an international man of mystery or a world famous actor, money is no object. So when you want a suit to look good, you make damn sure it does -- even if it means dropping $7,500 on something custom tailored by Tom Ford.

That's what Daniel Craig was wearing when he showed up at a recent photo shoot for GQ. He reportedly tried on all the embarrassingly expensive clothing the magazine's fashion department brought along -- but, in the end, decided to stick with the suit he'd chosen for himself.

It was probably a wise decision. Craig probably would have looked good in all the suits the GQ fashion crew picked out for him, but those months he spent wearing custom-made Brioni suits while filming Casino Royale probably made him a little spoiled. I know I would be.

Daniel Craig reveals his Achilles heel

Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrities with Style

Daniel Craig's blond hair may have caused a whirlwind of controversy for Bond fans this year, but according to the actor, it isn't his hair he worries about -- it's the color of his eyes.

In an interview with People magazine, Craig disclosed that he fears his striking blue eyes are turning grey. He said, "Sometimes I think they are getting bluer, maybe. But maybe in 10 years' time they're going to go buoomph! And just go out, and that'll be it. Old grey eyes is back."

Craig was recently named the world's sexiest man by a Durex poll of 4,000 women. However, after hearing this ridiculous bit of man-vanity straight from the horse's mouth, I'm not quite so convinced he deserves the honor. Clooney, after all, would never have said something like that.

Jenny Packham dresses the Bond girls

Filed under: Style in the News, Clothing, Dresses

jenny packhamWhen I first skimmed through and glanced at the information on British designer Jenny Packham, I was interested because she is the deisgner reposnsible for dressing a number of the Bond girls in the 007 series, including the most recent, Casino Royale. I was interested because Bond girls are basically super-models with ninja skills and this designer has obviously done her job. However, when I made it through to Jenny Packham's website, I was more than interested. Her collections are beautiful, glamorous, flowing, and lady-like in a dangerously sexy way. Just like the Bond girls. Of course, I was shaken, not stirred, when I saw her tuxedo for her Fall collection.

If you live in Los Angeles, Jenny Packham's designs can be found at Kitson and H. Lorenzo.

Almost a Bond Girl - bikini at Victoria's Secret

Filed under: Clothing, Swimwear and Lingerie

Victoria's Secret halter bikiniSo you weren't quite bikini-ready when summer started, but that's okay because the height of summer is the best time to buy swimsuits on sale, and if you buy now, you still have a good two months to wear it out by the pool.

There's no holster for a gun, but the style is very Ursula Andress with the belted bottom, and the halter style top shows off those sexy (sunless)-tanned shoulders you've been working on up until now.

The bikini is on sale at Victoria's Secret for $36 for both pieces, and the pieces can be bought separately. It also comes in white, aqua, and plum, but it looks the baddest-ass in black. Just like a Bond Girl.
