Texas Supermodel Jerry Hall Walks Tall Once More

jerry hallIconic supermodel Jerry Hall is having a moment*. The Texan Titan recently shot the Chanel spring accessories catalog with Karl Lagerfeld and this week announced her return to the Ford Models agency in New York.

But the spotlight will really be on her this fall, when she releases a much-anticipated autobiography. The book will not be her first foray into memoir: the six-foot stunner ruffled more than a few feathers in 1985 with "Tall Tales," in which she dished on her high profile relationships.

For those not up on their '70s bed-hopping, Mick Jagger's wife Bianca divorced him when he took up with Hall, who had left Roxy Music's Brian Ferry to begin the affair. Ferry was miffed enough about the book to write the pop hit "Kiss and Tell," whose video contains a Hall-lookalike modeling in front of a backdrop of tabloid headlines. Subtle, it wasn't!

Man Found Guilty of Cross Dressing in Dubai - Fashion Crime

Filed under: Style in the News, Men

A man dressed as a woman performs in a drag showIf you're planning a trip to the rich and worldly city of Dubai -- land of folklore, myth, and Kids Fashion Week -- make sure to pack some clothing that's unmistakeably specific to your own gender, especially if you're a man. An Indian man working in Dubai was arrested by police in the Mall of the Emirates for wearing women's clothing and mascara, then fined $2,722 by a judge. Our question: what if it turns out that he was wearing manscara?

Karl Lagerfeld Defends Fur - 'Beasts' Would Kill Us if We Didn't Kill Them

Filed under: Style in the News, Green Fashion

Karl LagerfeldYou know, with so many fabulous faux fur options, it's hard to understand why some designers refuse to offer cruelty-free designs. Or, at least, it was, but now we understand perfectly. Karl Lagerfeld explained it to us -- if hunters don't kill those "beasts," they would kill us. Obviously -- don't you see the murderous tendencies in those baby seal eyes?

Chanel Calls Off Mobile Art

Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrity Fashion Mistakes

The Karl Lagerfeld/Zaha Hadid concept of an internationally relevant design installation, Chanel Mobile Art, came grinding to a halt, according to a report in WWD (sorry, London, Moscow and Paris). The article by Robert Murphy contains this fashionably ambivalent quote from Lagerfeld: "We had so much press [after Hong Kong and Tokyo] that there was little more to add," he said. "I told Mr. [Alain] Wertheimer [owner of Chanel] not to do New York. It would have been good if we changed the artists, and used New York artists. Otherwise there was nothing to add. Today, everyone can say that something is for financial reasons when they want. For me, artistic reasons are more important. I always thought the building was a sculpture. I prefer it empty." We love the idea of high fashion informing broader culture so we're pitching a tv show about a guy who drops things then says a catch phrase: "I meant to do that!" Check out this video from the exhibition's glory day(s).

Karl Lagerfeld Looks to Emily Dickinson For Inspiration

Filed under: Haute Home, Celebrities with Style

Karl Lagerfeld is tightening his belt, and no, it's not because he's on another diet.

It looks like good old Karl is a new recessionista! He's moved to a smaller home in Paris and according to Spiegel Online, his new vacation home is "not giant ... very Emily Dickinson ... In fact it's almost Puritanical. For me it's a new form of modesty."

Holland Features Nude Portraits of Lagerfeld, Deyn in Upcoming Collection

Henry Holland's nude portrait of Karl LagerfeldA nude portrait of Karl Lagerfeld? Not sure we're ready to go there, but apparently there are plenty of other fashion groupies out there who want Karl in any form available -- t-shirt, teddy bear, or puppet. Those are exactly the fashion obsessed masses that Henry Holland knows how to connect with, and they're probably probably going to flip when they see his latest collection: a series of tees that feature all of your favorite fashion icons in the buff (their privates modestly covered by flowers).

Nicky Hilton in General - StyleFab!

nicky hilton in lofli jeansColor us as surprised as you. We tend to think "Hilton Girl" and in the next instant the words "Skank", "Ho", and "Put on some panties for the love of Uncle Karl!" go tumbling through our heads. But the other day we realized we've been unfairly tarring "The Other Hilton Girl" with the brush contaminated by her sister Paris. We must admit, these days Nicky Hilton usually looks...cute!

Karl Lagerfeld in Puppet Form on Etsy - Daily Obsession

Filed under: Celebrities with Style, Gift Guides, Daily Obsession

What's creepier than obsessing over eccentric, ponytail-wearing super designer Karl "the Kaiser" Lagerfeld? How about obsessing over a tiny felt finger puppet crafted in his image? Yes, it's kind of strange to think of cuddling up and playing designer with a fuzzy Karl puppet, but for some reason, we can't help but think this little doll is going to make somebody rich -- or at least make them a little extra Christmas cash.
