Katherine Heigl at the 'Marley & Me' Premiere - From Red Carpet to Your Closet

Filed under: Celebrities with Style, Red Carpet Trends, Get the Look

Katherine Heigl
Although she occasionally looks like she's auditioning for a remake of "Golden Girls," most of the time, we adore what Katherine Heigl wears on the red carpet. She puts a young, fun twist on some classic, glamorous looks, and when that happens, we all win.

Celebrity clothing designers: Who would you wear?

Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrities with Style

Lots of celebrities have taken to "designing" clothing lines. And, while some of them make sense -- who wouldn't want to dress like Penelope Cruz? -- some are questionable, to say the least. Check out this list of celebrity clothing designers and then cast your vote -- who's line would you be most likely to wear?

Zac Posen designs for Target

Filed under: Stores We Love, Style in the News, Steals and Deals

zac posenWell this hardly seems fair! We (USA) get a Target collection from Milla Jovovich and they (Australia) get a collection from Zac Posen. No offense Milla but if I were given a choice I would take Zac, sorry.

Everyone's favorite young designer, Zac Posen will debut his red carpet looks to Target on April 3rd in Australia. One piece in his collection that many people are excited about is the white gown Grey's Anatomy's Katherine Heigl wore at the Emmy Awards. The dress will retail at $299.99, which may sound high but can you imagine what the original couture gown costs? Yeah, under $300 is sounding more like a deal isn't it! The Heigl dress will be the most expensive piece in the collection and only 50 will be made. The rest of the collection won't be so expensive, prices will start at $49.99 (for a belt).

I for one am excited to see the collection even though I think Target is out of their ever loving minds for selling $300 dresses and $50 belts -- don't care who designed it this is Target please give me a real deal.

Oscar Coverage: Battle of the one shouldered dress -- Katherine Heigl vs. Hilary Swank

Katherine Heigl and Hilary Swank both wore one shouldered gowns on the red carpet. And they weren't the only ones. Everyone showed up tonight in the asymmetrical silhouette! I was surprised we didn't see any guys wearing one shoulder tuxes.

Katherine gets a few bonus points since she went red and one shouldered. That's like killing two trendy birds with one stone since red was definitely the color of the night. It also helps that she was born for old school Hollywood glamor. Her short wavy hair and big earrings perfectly complete the look!

Hilary decided to do the one shoulder in black. Her gown was a bit more flowing and had more intricate details than Katherine's. She looks fab, but she also looks, how do I put this delicately, hungry.

I'm going with Katherine as the winner of the one shoulder face off. Mostly just because I can't focus on Hilary's dress long enough to decide if it's better or not. When I look at her all I can see are the bones popping out of her chest. Eat a sandwich, woman!

Get your dog red carpet ready

Filed under: Style in the News, Clothing, Dresses, Celebrities with Style

red carpet america ferrera little liy dog versionTypically after a big red carpet ceremony like the Emmy's you see designer knockoffs -- for humans. This year the knockoffs have gone to the dogs, literally to the dogs. Doggie fashion label Little Lily carries designer inspired gowns for your pooch. For $88, your dog can wear America Ferrera's Monique Lhuillier gown. If blue is not really your dog's color, perhaps she will look better in Katherine Heigl's white Zac Posen gown for $120.

Honestly, I don't get it. I am not opposed to people dressing up their pets (in fact that is the one of the reasons I want a pet), but where do you take a dog in doggie gown? Out for a night on the town or to a nice steak dinner?

It's sick really. I still can't figure out what bothers me more -- dressing up your dog in a gown or paying $120 for that gown. I have human dresses that cost less than $120. Am I alone here? Does anyone out there think this is okay?
