Booties, like gladiators, are a shoe trend that just won't seem to go away. At first it was like a pesky fly we tried to swat away but over time, we've grown fond of the buzz that these funky, ankle hugging shoes have created.

How does TomKat sound as a label? The name has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? Well, somehow we doubt that the line will actually be called that, but Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes may be shopping around for a designer to help them get a fashion project off the ground -- and no, we're not talking about designing jeans here.

We appreciate the fact that Katie Holmes takes fashion risks -- being as tall and thin as she is, she can pull off a lot of craziness that we mere mortals couldn't dream of wearing. However, that doesn't mean she should wear whatever she wants, because there's just no excuse for wearing this on the opening night of your Broadway debut.

Most of us in the world of fashion were slightly taken aback when Katie Holmes started sporting what looked like her husband's jeans, pegged and rolled to the ankle. We were sure it was a fluke, but she kept showing up in them, and before long, we stopped being surprised. Heck, we even stopped making faces about it.

For a tot who can hardly walk yet, Suri Cruise has some pretty fabulous shoes. It's been well-documented that Suri likes to pick out her own clothes, and apparently, she has great taste -- the ankle biter has her own, custom made, red buckle Roger Vivier flats.

We're pretty solidly Team Aniston, but are even more solidly Team Gunn. So we must agree with Tim's assessment of Jen's post-Idiot (Mayer The Player gag) wardrobe. Oh, we still think she looks miles better without that ass, but when a style expert like Tim speaks out, we defer. Oh yes, we defer.

In Tim's learned opinion, lately Jen's wardrobe is unintentionally giving out the message that she is a "desperate character." While hanging with Project Runway Season 3 finalist Laura Bennett at the launch party for Tide and Downy Total Care, Tim told OK! Magazine that "She's a gorgeous woman," who "understands her fashion" so there is hope for her to rebound.

Tim is less kind about Miley Cyrus, who he said looks tarty and dresses too old for her 15 years. And he said, quite rightly, that Katie Holmes is looking like dowdy European royalty.

Sigh. We need this kindly but blunt voice of reason. Season two of Tim Gunn's Guide to Style cannot get here soon enough for us!

The movie "Tropic Thunder" wasn't the only thing premiering on August 11. Katie Holmes lost the Huck Finn look in favor of an absolutely stunning navy blue satin and leather dress from her own line, Holmes-Yang for Georgio Armani. It was the line's first appearance in public. Now this is the type of stuff she should be wearing!

Former Dawson's Creek star and Tom Cruise wife, Katie Holmes, debuted her new line of clothing at the Tropic Thunder premiere last night. The stars swooped in at the last minute to a baffled crowd of photographers, who were amazed they came. Holmes has been working on a clothing line for Georgio Armani, and this might be the first ever look at what she can do.

The dress looks amazing, blue satin on the bottom half with a leather halter-top and a strap running around the neck. I know one thing: she sure can design for her bottom frame.

Along with TomKat, came the stars of the film Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr and Jack Black and surprise co-stars Matthew McConaughey, Justin Theroux, Amy Adams and Tobey Maguire.

Okay so first Katie, then Gwyneth, then Liz, next Hayden and now Eva. Obviously bobs are back in business.

For whatever reason, Tom Cruise decided that his fleet of luxury vehicles weren't safe enough. So he decided to get them all decked out with the latest in armored technology. Tom's fleet is now equipped with bulletproof glass, bombproof armor, and his drivers have all been trained in self defense. Is Tom Cruise cracking up?
