Gola Launches Christian Lacroix Designed Sneaker Collection

Christian Lacroix's Gola collectionFor those of you who believe that sports and fashion go hand in hand, Gola has teamed up with Christian Lacroix to develop a line of haute couture sneakers, embossed and embroidered with a small French fashion house feel. You know what they say: fashion makes strange bedfellows -- wait, that's politics. Anyway, the collection hit shelves this week in the US and will be available exclusively at Lacroix's boutique stores in New York and Las Vegas.

Must have bling of the day: Ambush's Beeeeethoven ring

Japanese line Ambush doesn't take itself too seriously, as evidenced by their highly amusing Bheeeeetoven collection (yes, spelled like that) currently available at Frution in Las Vegas and online. Sure, it features the bust of the famed composer, but it's not exactly made for the classical radio set.

Rubber Duck goes plaid for the fall

Rubber Duck is back with a fall collection filled with plaid. Fans like Lindsay Lohan, Sienna Miller and Hillary Duff will be excited to see that the LA/Copenhagen hipster line includes more choices of their infamous Snowjoggers, which are either tons better or a million times worse than Uggs, depending on your age and coolness orientation.

In addition to the Snowjoggers, you can also get tennis shoes and scarves in matching plaid. And to complete your Rubber Duck look, grab a pair of the brightly colored Wayfarer style sunglasses, or the porno-riffic "Las Vegas" goggle-style that we totally covet in white.

Need help putting together your perfect Rubber Duck outfit? In the gallery, a few of our choice favs, including those sexy sunglasses.

I want that! Molly Sims in La Perla

Is Molly Sims killing it in this dress or is she killing it? The green with the exotic clutch and the chain necklace. How does one pull these things off and look so cool doing it? Ah... I guess it's the model factor. Damn her and her model-ness.

We also feel as though her beachy waves and rosy blush deserve an honorable mention.

Birkhead buys lingerie for tiny daughter Dannielynn

We admit, when we read the AP headline, our first thought was that Larry Birkhead had descended to a new low: buying lingerie for his tiny 1 year old daughter, Dannielynn to wear.

Like the kid isn't going to have enough problems without Daddy sexing her up before puberty. Before toddlerhood. Before potty-training!

Fortunately (we're speaking relatively here -- you have to look at the big picture) Larry purchased the pink bustier and white negligee that Anna Nicole wore in a Playboy shoot as memorabilia, to help Dannielynn remember her late mother.

Heather Mills gets booed at Miss USA pageant

Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrities with Style

Here in America, we love us some beauty pageants, and Miss USA is no exception. The gossip, spills, and thrills make the ridiculous contest a must see for all fiends of pop culture. But apparently, Heather Mills has a different impression of why Americans tune in to watch the pageant -- to see her gold-digging celebrity face.

It's hard to imagine why she has such a high opinion of her popularity here in the States, when the New York Post is reporting that the audience "booed and hissed when Mills was announced as a judge for the show." Still, somehow she's found a way to convince herself that America loves her. Reportedly, her enormous ego prompted her to launch an all-out attack on the show's producers to fatten up her contract.

Jeffrey Sebelia and Rock Anthem

Filed under: Style in the News, Clothing, Men

jeffrey sebeliaWe are always curious about the after-lives of ex-Project Runway-ers here at Styledash, and we have a bit of news about Jeffrey Sebelia. Yes, that Jeffrey Sebelia, the leather-n-chains tattooed designer who won last season.

Jeffrey will be doing a limited edition collection for Rock Anthem, a high-end line of knits and t-shirts inspired by rock and roll. The collaboration seems to be a natural one since Jeffrey's hard-edged, punk-inspired designs are rooted in his personal history playing bass in a band. While the designer's own line Cosa Nostra is a little out of range for me (price-wise, that is; design-wise, I love rocker chic), I am hoping that the Rock Anthem pieces will show up in places like Fred Segal or Lisa Kline with a more affordable price tag.

The line will debut at Project in Vegas next week.

Shop til your drop - in Vegas

forum shops at caesar's palaceWhile the biggest draw to Vegas is likely the unlikely chance that you'll walk away with thousands of dollars in winnings, there are other reasons to go to Sin City. The food-ish side of me (which certainly shows on the outside), loves the fact that so many notable chefs have opened up restaurants in Vegas. The fashion-ish side of me (which is sadly, hidden on the inside), loves the shopping. Yes, without ever stepping foot out into the desert air, you can access thousands upon thousands of square feet of unpure, adulterated shopping.

Fodor's has put together a quick list of the major shopping areas of Las Vegas, so while your girlfriends or boyfriends or newly-made-at-the-club-last-night friends are throwing their money away at tables, you can do the same at The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, Desert Passage at Aladdin, Fashion Outlets of Las Vegas, and The Grand Canal Shoppes at Venetian, but at least you'll walk away with stuff.

America's best shopping cities

Online shopping has changed the way that Americans spend their money. Whether you are in Bangor, Maine or San Diego, California, the world wide web gives you access to the best goods in America, all from the comfort of home.

But internet retail cannot fill the special place in my heart that I reserve for new shops in other cities. Whether it's a piece of jewelry, a great outfit or a plain white t-shirt, what you buy on the road can become a special souvenir to remind you -- months or even years later -- of that great trip where you scored that totally unforgettable item.

Earlier this week, I told you my favorite worldwide cities. Well, here are my favorite stateside shopping ports-of-call:

1. New York City
Well, of course, New York is the best city for shopping in America. They have Barneys, they have Henri Bendel, they have Stella McCartney and soon they will also be the first American city to have my favorite international store, TopShop London. If you are in the mood for smaller boutiques or vintage clothing, New York offers you everything you could possibly crave, especially if they make it in black.

2. Miami
There are few urban cities in an America where you will not be tempted to buy or wear anything that is black. Miami is one of these, which for better or worse, is a great place to visit if you are looking for something colorful to perk up your wardrobe. While you're there, be sure to check out the Bal Harbour Shops and the Lincoln Road area. The Bal Harbour Shops was once named the best shopping center in America. (How 'bout them apples?)

4. Chicago
Chicago may very well be known as a great place for boutique shopping. But to me, Chicago will also be the great city of department stores. My favorite, admitted for nostalgic reasons, has to be Marshall Fields on State Street. (It's actually Macy's now, but it's still the same old turn-of-the-century building.)

5. Las Vegas
Over the past ten years, Las Vegas has been transformed from a seedy Sin City to a true destination for luxury shopping. Fendi, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Chanel, Louis Vuitton -- why Las Vegas might as well be known as the Milan of United States, of course, with much smaller churches and Elvis Impersonators instead of runway models.

6. Portland
So, Portland might not be the place to go for expensive designer goods, but if you are looking for the unique and one-off item that no one else will have, Portland is the place to go. Check out the Pearl District for hipster boutiques. Just make sure you save some time for digging through Red Light Clothing Exchange, Portland's most famous vintage clothing store.

7. Seattle
If I could create the perfect city, I would definitely put Filene's Basement next to Nordstorm's, which would be only a few blocks from the uber-trendy Marimekko store, which would be just a stone's skip off of the ocean. Sounds an awful lot like Seattle, doesn't it? Well, I might change a few things about the city (like the weather), but on the whole, Seattle is right up my alley when it comes to shopping.
