Liv Tyler in Doucette Duval - I want that!

Liv Tyler looked just like you'd imagine she should in a sleek yet edgy Doucette Duvall LBD at the Spike TV Scream 2008 Awards. She always manages to wear something that is totally rock 'n roll but chic too. While we do love the dress, we've got to admit it's the Kara Ross clutch that did us in and really set the look on fire.

Gemma Ward to play "actress" once more?

Filed under: Style in the News

As was mentioned earlier, IMG star Gemma Ward has taken a break from the modeling industry to focus more on her budding acting career.

Recently, she starred in the horror flick The Strangers, starring Liv Tyler. And if everything goes accordingly, she may have another chance to play a crazed killer behind a funny mask once again:

Variety reports Rogue Pictures, the studio that produced the eerie film, is planning on making a sequel to their summer hit. The flick cost them a mere $9 million to make and it grossed a whopping $54 million. Production is slated to begin at the beginning of 2009.

Maybe this time Gemma will have a speaking part -- stay tuned!

Tip of the day: Start using Ojon... like right now.

Filed under: Men, Hair Care, Cosmetics, Skin Care, Celebrities with Style, Style Tip of the Day

We have never been so smitten with a product before than Ojon's Restorative Treatment. We love, love, love this product. We've tried countless hair treatments and have raided the local Sephora far too many times but this... this stuff is the real deal.

We first heard about Ojon when our silly obsession with Gisele Bunchen's long mane brought us to the word. "Gisele uses Ojon. Must learn more." Apparently a little tribe in Central America called the Miskito Indians has been harvesting the fruits of the tree that bears the Ojon oil for centuries. When the tribe was discovered one of the first things noted was their stunning hair and skin. We mean, well... hot damn, just check out that kid's hair in the picture!

Still not convinced? Here are some more reasons you should totally give this stuff a whirl.

Liv Tyler must be pregnant

Liv Tyler must be pregnant, because that is really the only excuse we can possibly come up with for this tent she tried to pass off as a dress at a Cinema Society event last week.

Lindsay Lohan finds out there's a high price to pay for self tanning

There's a high price to pay for self tanning too much -- looking like an Oompa Loompa, and $70,000. Yep, you read that right. Although it sounds absolutely unreal, Lindsay Lohan spends $70,000 a year in fake tanning. That's more than a lot of people make -- and she throws that much down on her orange sunshine in a bottle annually.

Well, first of all, I want to say that's so unnecessary. We all love Lindsay's freckles. Plus, lots of pale ladies in Hollywood have made white skin in. Take Marcia Cross for instance. She is never on the set of Desperate Housewives without a big floppy hat or an umbrella. Liv Tyler works a black bikini with no tan like nobody's business. Nicole Kidman is envied for her porcelain skin. And I think Dita Von Teese actually uses foundation that makes her look a shade whiter than her natural skin color. All those women know that pale can be beautiful. Fake tan isn't the way to go.

But, if you do feel the need to bronze yourself, try a few cheaper and more subtle option than Lindsay's fake and expensive orange glow. Check out these products that will give you more bang for your buck! Here are 5 self tanners and bronzers that are subtle and cheap.

New "it" model discovered while eating pizza with her mom

Filed under: Runway Trends, Style in the News, Celebrities with Style

Discovered eating pizzaWe've all heard the stories -- models and actresses that were "discovered" by some Hollywood big shot while they were waiting tables, or just walking down the streets of Los Angeles. These rags to riches tales of instant celebrity are pretty ridiculous -- especially when you consider the hundreds of thousands of beautiful, talented young people aspiring to a career in the entertainment industry.

But apparently, every once in awhile, it really does happen.

Irina Kulikova is the fashion industry's latest modeling sensation. In the runway shows for fall/winter 2007-8, she walked for huge design houses like Prada and Chanel, and will soon be featured in advertising campaigns by Prada, Jill Sander, Marc Jacobs and Pringle of Scotland.

So how did a virtual nobody become such an overnight success? Rumor has it that Liv Tyler, the American actress, spotted Kulikova eating in a Moscow restaurant, and voila -- instant success.

I've subsequently decided to start taking my laptop to Pizza Hut, so that a book publisher will "discover" me. International fame and untold fortune is right around the corner -- I can almost taste it! (And, as you might suspect, fame tastes like pepperoni.)

Liv Tyler totally wants plastic surgery

A celebrity getting plastic surgery isn't exactly news -- but while nearly all of them seem to work done, most of them pretend as if they hadn't.

Not Liv Tyler. The actress recently told Allure magazine, "I'm definitely going to have some, I'm sure."

For Liv, it's all about getting her body back to where it was before the birth of her son, Milo -- because, as she puts it, "I have to make a living." In addition to her work as an actress (which, let's face it, requires having a freakishly well-kept figure), Tyler also models for Givenchy.

According to Tyler, if she didn't get plastic surgery, she'd be forced to "sell my house and go live a really simple life in a trailer somewhere." Given that Liv is not only famous in her own right, but is also the child of Steven Tyler (lead singer of Aerosmith) and Bebe Buell (supermodel), somehow, I don't think that's in the cards.

But I love that Liv is so upfront about how necessary (and difficult) it is for models and actresses to look how they're "supposed" to. Agree with it or not, when celebrities pretend these ridiculously high standards of beauty are easy to achieve, they're only making it worse on everyone who looks up to them, or wants to look like them. It's tough to get a body like that -- so why lie about it?

Is Gemma Ward ready for her close-up?

Filed under: Runway Trends, Style in the News, Celebrities with Style

Trust me, every model out there has aspirations of one day becoming an actress/model. So, it came as no surprise to me that Australian supermodel Gemma Ward is trying her hand at the acting-thing in a new movie "Stranger." Eighteen-year-old Ward, who was the youngest model to ever grace the cover of Vogue, will be starring opposite Liv Tyler in the suspense thriller set to be released in October 2007.

I have to be honest, I really think that Gemma is in over her head on this one. It's not that I'm doubting her acting talent -- okay, I am -- but you'd think that she'd want to play it safe in her first movie. I just get the feeling that Liv Tyler is going to make her look really model/actress, not actress/model.
