Meryl Streep is one of the few people in Hollywood who still refuses to hire a stylist. In this regard, I admire her individualism and confidence. If you liked the high-fashion world in The Devil Wears Prada, you should check out Audrey Hepburn's 1957 film, Funny Face. Granted, it's a much tamer vision of the world of fashion than the one we saw with Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly, but that's part of this classic film's charm. Funny Face follows the young ingenue Jo Stockton (Hepburn) as she travels to Paris to model high-end fashions for the famous photographer Dick Avery, played by Fred Astaire. If you have a soft spot for Gershwin, 1950s Paris, and for vintage Givenchy clothes, Funny Face is the film for you.
