NYLON Documents Bad Fashion Week Street Style

Filed under: Style in the News

Normally, when NYLON asks Mark "The Cobrasnake" Hunter to go on some type of fashion mission for them the results tend to be mixed. However, everyone's favorite middle-aged hipster did a good thing with his A/W '09 New York Fashion Week weird style feature for the indie tome.

Who doesn't want nails like Brenda?

Doc Marten boots and flannel tops aren't the only ubiquitous 90s favorites making their way back into our lives this fall.

90210, the ingenious show that Aaron Spelling created and we all religiously watched throughout our adolescences, will be getting a makeover next season over at the CW for our viewing pleasure.

The 90210 spin-off will follow a new high school crew living in the infamous area code and causing all sorts of trouble, but there will also be a few players from the original show: Shannon Doherty and Jennie Garth.

In celebration of this epic television show resurrection, O.P.I. is creating a series of limited-edition nail polishes inspired by 90210. They'll be released this fall, right around the time 90210's pilot episode airs. Nylon magazine will have a sneak peak of the shades in one of their upcoming issues.

Meanwhile, those waxing lyrical about old episodes of Melrose's Place and 90210 should check out this week's ho'roscopes.

Behind-the-Scenes: Havaianas

Flip flops: you love them, we love them, and honestly, the world would be much colder without them.

Even though the sandals could leave us with busted and broken ankles in the near future and expose us to a potentially life-threatening disease, we unapologetically throw caution to the wind every time the sweltering weather conditions become too unbearable and slide our lovable thong shoes right on.

Lauren Conrad, now making over-priced accessories

Much like teen internet sensation Cory Kennedy and Manchester supermodel Agyness Deyn, you can't knock the hustle of Lauren Conrad.

Love them or hate them, these women have drive.

While she lacks any type of design ability and always presents herself as a spoiled self-entitled brat on her show The Hils, Lauren must be commended on her entrepreneurial skills.

Joy Bryant, not just a pretty face

Typically, when discussing the talents of a model-actress-whatever the conversation stops pretty much as soon as it begins (Think: Paris Hilton, Mischa Barton).

But Joy Bryant would definitely have to be the exception to this rule. The Yale graduate's resume is very long and quite impressive.

So, you can only imagine our excitement when we saw the mini interview Nylon magazine posted on its site featuring the former Tommy Hilfiger model. The fashion glossy caught up with Bryant at the party for the launch of Surf Girls Roxy.

On how she got acquainted with waves and surfboards: "Well, a couple years ago I was dating a surfer who was really hot, so he got me in the water. So there's your story! But I think if I learned to do that stuff early on, I'd be so sick right now. I'd be retarded."

Spoken like a real bad ass.

Contrary to belief, we aren't the ones on the internet who have a massive crush on the shop they call Top. A shocker, for sure.

Nylon is not ready to make nice

Filed under: Style in the News

Last month, Nylon magazine placed Chloé's perfume girls -- Clemence Posey, Anja Rubik, and Chloë Sevigny -- on its April beauty issue.

To celebrate all of the Chloe synergy (cover and person), the fashion magazine tapped Sevigny to host its ninth anniversary party a couple of weeks ago.

Well to everybody's surprise (the guests, the editors... the people who put her on the cover), the Big Love actress didn't show up. At all.
