How to walk like a model

Chances are you don't spend a lot of time strutting down runways in shockingly expensive designer clothing. But that's no reason not to pretend like you're well-dressed, hot, and totally famous.

Thanks to some easy-to-follow tips from Jessica Stam, on the fashion world's top models, you'll be the hit the party (or just turn heads walking down the street) -- mimicking the sultry saunter of ladies on the catwalk. Basically, you just need to stand up straight and walk with confidence -- but it's worth watching the video, if only because Jessica is totally adorable.

For more tips, check out the article in today's Wall Street Journal.

Who is the man with the cat?

Filed under: Runway Trends, Events: On the Scene, Celebrities with Style

In an earlier post, Jonathon introduced us all to the new emerging trend of cats-as-accessories, a style which first appeared during New York Fashion Week.

The man with the cat, it turns out, isn't a flamboyant designer or an indie rocker -- he's actually a Romanian socialite by the name of Nicolae Petroscu. Over the past week, Petroscu has dashed from show to show, accompanied by his Persian cat, Leo, and his mysterious lady friend Elisabeta. Stranger still, the duo travels through town in a vintage Rolls Royce with their own personal violinist and an lowly assistant who throws roses in their path.

As one might imagine, there has been considerable speculation about this pair. A Google search on Petroscu yields nothing, aside from an article about Nicolae Petroscu, a diplomat who died in 1958.

So what exactly is going on here? Is it a piece of performance art? Is it a joke? Or are these people for real?

Well, Radar online thinks that Petroscu's persona is probably the work of comedian Sacha Baron Cohen. With his cover blown after the film Borat, creating new personalities portrayed by other people is probably the next obvious step in his career.

Gisele's surprising diet

Celebrities -- particularly the skinny ones -- would like us all to believe that they eat like pigs, not birds. Nicole Richie says she loves french fries while Kate Bosworth dishes on her penchant for rich desserts. But should we believe them? Not on your life!

Supermodel Gisele Bundchen, who is known for her leggy frame and fat-less body, has also joined the fray of famous waifs who want the public to believe that they get to eat whatever they want. (As if we didn't already resent them enough for being so terribly rich and idle!)

In a recent interview, Gisele chocked up her hot bod to a steady diet of red meat. A supposed fan of McDonald's hamburgers, the 26-year-old model said that she balances her carnivorous diet with rigorous exercise.

(Suddenly, I'm dying to know what her cholesterol numbers are.)
