Line Lips First - StyleLies

Pam AndersonFor decades us ladies have been taught to first line our lips and then carefully apply our lipstick, topping it all off with a gloss. Well, we are about to turn that notion on its head.

Madonna threatens to kick Sarah Palin's butt - Could she?

Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrities with Style

For whatever reason, GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has earned the animosity of many of the entertainment industry's "tough girls." A month ago, tattooed bombshell Pamela Anderson gave the bespectacled governor some verbal harassment, telling E! reporters that Palin "can suck it." Now, at a stop on Madonna's tour in NYC, the pop diva promises the crowd "I will kick her ass." That brings up an important question for this years election -- please cast your vote below.

Who would win in a battle royale: Madonna or Sarah Palin?

Seriously, Pamela Anderson -- pick on someone your own size -- oh wait, that's what you're doing. She's calling Katie "Jordan" Price out over her reality show antics. Two women known for their big boobs talent and charm are now duking it out. The girl with cantaloupe sized breasts thinks the girl with watermelon breasts isn't classy.

Giorgio Armani is really in the doghouse with PETA now

Filed under: Celebrities with Style, Style for a Cause

As a high-profile clothing designer, you know that PETA's going to come at you with all they've got if you like to showcase fur in your collections, whether or not you've given any indication that you support animal rights. But, if you really want to make PETA angry, do what Giorgio Armani did. After reporting that PETA had convinced him to drop fur from his collections in an interview with Time last year -- he apparently had a little change of heart.

Instead of ditching fur in his designs, his fall lineup is covered up with the stuff. Chock full of fur coats, fur-hemmed skirts, and even fur coats for children (an unforgivable sin in the eyes of fur-haters) -- it's almost like Giorgio's latest designs were meant to publicly snub PETA . Ouch!

Now, according to the NYP, hardcore PETA groupies like Pamela Anderson are planning a serious counterattack against the perceived betrayal. Word has it that PETA devotees will put celebs that attend Armani shows "in the hot seat" as part of an attempt shun the superstar designer and his fur-loving fashions.

Pamela Anderson is getting un-inked

Remember how your mother told you not to get a tattoo, that you'd regret it later in life? You know, because they're permanent and all. Well, at least in the case of Pamela Anderson, it turns out that mother's advice was right on. And, because Mother's Day is coming up, we'll take this opportunity to congratulate mothers for always being right about stuff.

Over the years, Pamela's got a lot of mileage out of her trademark barbed wire ink, but now that tattoo trends have changed -- and her skin is beginning to show the inevitable signs of gravity -- she's hooking up with Beverly Hills tattoo removal specialist Dr. Tattoff before things start to get ugly. Could it be that Pamela's ahead of the curve on the next celebrity trend: tattoo removal.

From model to strip club owner: the Pam Anderson story

While you could argue that Pamela Anderson is still a successful model and/or the object of men's desire, let's be real: these days she's not exactly turning heads. So what's an on-the-outs, former Playmate, C-list celebrity supposed to do to stay in the limelight?

If Pam's blog is any indication, her next step on the path to eternal infamy might be to open a chain of strip clubs.

She writes: "I'm going to look into opening a chain of strips club and ill call them LAPLAND!!!" [sic]

While, normally, I wouldn't have much faith in a Pamela Anderson-led entrepreneurial endeavor, I have a feeling that, in this case, she just might know what she's talking about.

Pamela v. Julian, round 2

Filed under: Runway Trends, Style in the News, Celebrities with Style

Earlier this week, Jonathon clued us into a stand-off between Pamela Anderson and designer Julian MacDonald. As J.M. mentioned, Pam rather publicly refused to attend MacDonald's show during London Fashion Week because he had used real fur in his fall/winter 2007 collection.

Well, MacDonald didn't take too kindly to Pammie's high-profile snub. He fired back by saying, "People who don't like fur can piss off. I love fur. It's a beautiful, natural product from animals." (Vulgarians make such compelling arguements, don't they?") MacDonald also enlisted fur lover and public enemy #1, Naomi Campbell to open and close his fashion show.

For some reason, this showdown reminds me of that old Groucho Marx joke (originally from Freud as Annie Hall tells us), which goes something like, "I wouldn't want to be part of a club that had someone like Naomi Campbell for a member."

Pamela Anderson says no to London Fashion Week

Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrities with Style

Pamela Anderson won't be taking part in London Fashion Week, despite an invitation from designer Julian Macdonald. So what gives?

Says Pam, in a letter to Macdonald, "You're such a wonderful, talented designer and I know you can come up with killer fashions that don't kill anything. My friends at Peta and I would love to hear from you should you decide to go fur-free."

Take that!

This isn't the first time Pam's publicly defended animal rights. Last year she got naked in the window of Stella McCartney's store in support of anti-fur awareness.

I'm not normally a huge Pam Anderson fan, but I'm with her on this one. Macdonald's taste and/or talent aside -- why would anyone insist on using real fur anyone? I don't understand the attraction.
