Kate Gosselin's Extreme Transformation

Kate Gosselin found a place in America's heart as the mom of eight (sextuplets and twins) on TLC's reality series "Jon & Kate Plus 8."

We watched her go from soccer mom to media darling -- with a trim figure and sassy 'do to boot.

Now, she'll be facing her biggest transformation yet -- becoming a single mom.

As reported by People magazine, the reality show parents have filed for divorce. The couple also made the big announcement on last night's episode.

This will undoubtedly be a tough time for all involved (and there are many involved), but if there's one thing that won't get lost in the shuffle, it's Kate's style.

Check out just how far she's come in the style evolution (below).

Kate Gosselins Style Evolution

Kate Gosselin shows off her extremely pregnant body in this undated family photo. She leapt into stardom after giving birth to sextuplets in May, 2004.

Back in 2004, Kate Gosselin was just a mom. A mom who had twins and had just given birth to sextuplets, sure, but otherwise, just a regular person. With very regular style.

She's hardly recognizable as the woman we've been seeing on the tabloid covers lately -- the dark hair (and lack of flashbulbs going off all around her) really changes her look.

Four years later, Kate had undergone a tummy tuck and gotten a major makeover. Hey, if you were going to be in the spotlight nonstop, wouldn't you?

Just last year, she and Jon were the picture of suburban happiness, with preppy clothes and a house full of adorable children. And a hit TV show, of course.

In fact, in October 2008, the couple renewed their wedding vows in a fabulous and romantic ceremony.

However, 2009 seems to be the beginning of the end of their relationship. But not Kate's style! She's one hot mama, and now that she's single, watch out!

Kate's learned that, just because the show's cameras are off, that doesn't mean the paparazzi will give her a pass. She keeps casual and cool with comfy clothes that fit and flatter. And you know what? Ball caps, when not worn all the time, are a fun way to hide a bad hair day.

Stacy London Uses Pantene and Her Hair Looks Great

Filed under: Hair Care, Celebrities with Style, Hair Cut and Style

When it comes to hair products, our opinion is equally divided between "drugstore practical" and "pricey salon splurge". And given the state of the economy, we must admit that lately drugstore brands like Pantene have been showing up in our shower with increasing regularity.

Carmindy's Get Positively Beautiful Book

"Use dark eyeliner for a smoldering look he won't be able to resist. Apply blush to contour your face so your cheeks won't look fat. Use lip gloss for a sexy pout." Other beauty books are all about how to make yourself attractive for other people. What Not to Wear's Carmindy's Get Positively Beautiful book is not that kind of getting gorgeous guide.

Pocket squares aren't for squares

Filed under: Accessories, Style in the News, Clothing, Vintage and Retro, Men

This one is for Clinton Kelly.

If Mr. Kelly, of TLC's What Not to Wear, has pushed one fashion accessory on the American public it is the pocket square. Unfortunately, very few of the very few men that appear on the show are open to said square. Why not? What's the big deal?

Do people think squares are for squares? Probably. Not us. We agree, Clinton, a bold silk handkerchief in a man's coat pocket can add just the right amount of pop to his ensemble.

Bags by TLC's Chilli

Ever since the TLC craze died down sometime in the mid 90's, we haven't seen a whole lot of the girls. Obviously there was Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes' tragic death in a car accident. But aside from bad news, they've been flying under the radar. The group has had a few major musical projects since then, but nothing too popular. So it looks like Rozanda "Chilli" Thomas decided to try something new. She's now designing handbags.

Tim Gunn beats Stacy London

Filed under: Style in the News

If your wardrobe is a reflection of your true self, it stands to reason that a messy, outdated closet equals inner turmoil.

This will come as no surprise to anyone who ever watched Tim Gunn's Guide to Style on Bravo, or TLC's What Not To Wear. The transformation on each episode is always accompanied by tears and high emotions.

Here's the question. Your life is being dissected in front of TV cameras, presumably for the viewing enjoyment of millions. Which "therapist" would you prefer to experience:

TLC make it stop: The Makeover Train

Filed under: Style in the News

Lately I have found myself watching TLC (The Learning Channel) a lot, perhaps its the lack of decent television in the summer months or else I just want to learn a thing or two. Problem is, I ain't learning squat. What I have learned is that TLC is in desperate need of a new programmer.

While watching What Not to Wear (love that show), I see a commercial for an online show called The Makeover Train. The premise is you step on the "makeover train" and get off looking fabulous. They even roll out a red carpet for your fabulous self to strut around on. Sounds good right? Wrong. What the heck kind of makeover can you really get on a train?

You get a smile. Seriously, what is different between these two photos? I feel like I am playing that picture hunt game or something. You know the game where you have to point out the differences between the two images. I watched this video twice and I still can't figure out when the makeover happened. I think they fluffed up her hair, smacked her on the ass and sent her on her way.

That is one train I am not interested in riding. Good one TLC, lets stick to learning ... What do you say?
