5 Best Beauty Finds of 2008

We see a lot in this job. Lip stuff, nail polish, hair treatments galore. It's hard to stand out in the onslaught of beauty goodness. But every year there are a few products we fall in love with, products we are grateful to know about, and that we'll be using for years to come. It was a good year, and picking just five to showcase was hard, but when it comes down it, we have a pretty limited repetoire. There are a few items that we have been harping on -- via Twitter, to strangers at Sephora and whipping out on the bus -- non-stop this year:

Each year, we see tons all sorts of short-lived fashion trends that, at the time, seem to have some promise, but look kinda stupid immediately thereafter. That's part of what fashion is all about, and it's cool. Still, every once in a while, we see a look that's so ugly, annoying, or inconvenient, that we hope that it will be stamped out with a vengeance. We''ve poured through our files and made a list -- and, of course we checked it twice -- of the Top 5 menswear trends of 2008 that we hope will die out as quickly as they arrived.
