New dudes' undies have "Butt-Lifting and Contouring Technology"

Filed under: Swimwear and Lingerie, Men

Ponder, for a moment, the shape of your backside. For most guys, this is something we're not normally focused on, assuming since pre-adolescence that the only part of our abdomen where size matters is the section you can't show on TV -- ever, not even on HBO.

But what if firm, hearty buttocks are just as important as the girth of your manly bits? Should you start exercising -- or eating lots of junk food hoping the weight won't wind up in your thighs?

You could. Or you grab yourself a pair of Andrew Christian underwear. The designer's latest line utilizes "Flashback - Butt Lifting Technology," which, as the name suggests, lifts and contours your dudely derriere. This, according to the product page, means up to 1" of extra ass with "no embarrassing padding, hidden cups or straps."

This sounds great and all, but let me tell you something. If you have even considered putting pads in your skivvies, there is no chance you will date anyone ever again.

Winkees hide clevage, help guys keep eye contact

Want to dress like a celebrity, but don't feel super comfortable about letting your boobs hang out all day? Don't worry, my fashion-forward (but kind of modest) friend -- there is a solution!

Meet the Winkee -- an additional undergarment for the more reserved fashionista. While it might look like someone simply got a little confused when putting on their underoos, rest assured, that's how the Winkee is supposed to look. It attaches to your bra, and serves as an alternative to wearing a tank top underneath your plunging neckline.

So next time you want to wear that hot new top, but would rather guys weren't distracted by your, um, more obvious assets, try the Winkee -- and you'll know they're paying attention to you, and not your yaboos.

Stella McCartney's new underwear line

Stella McCartney is at it again. The high profile (and highly prolific) designer has come up with a new underwear range -- and, true to her animal-loving, eco-friendly roots, it's organic!

The collection is meant to have a vintage feel, which gives the sultry skivvies a grown-up sex appeal that says "I'm comfortable in my own skin" without saying "I don't care if I ever have sex again." Plus, the frilly, feminine adornments come with cutesy names like "Poppy Posing" and "Eve Giggling." Um, adorable.

Good news is that the new line hits stores on February 1st -- presumably this means that online retailers will be carrying the lingerie as well. For a full list of locations (both online and off), check out the Stella McCartney website.

Dita Von Teese designs new Wonderbra

Filed under: Swimwear and Lingerie, Celebrities with Style

Here's a fairly obvious partnership -- Dita Von Teese and Wonderba. The burlesque dancer turned B-list celeb will not only be the new face of the boob-enhancing undergarments, but she'll also be collaborating with Victoria's Secret to create a limited edition collection called, not surprisingly, "Wonderbra by Dita Von Teese."

So what's so special about a bra designed by pseudo strip-tease artist? The plan is to make "wearable lingerie that will add a touch of glamor to people's lives." Von Teese will be designing a collection based on 1940s styles and vintage underwear designs -- which, to be fair, will probably look pretty good.

Expect to see the new collection in France and the UK by September. No news on when (of even if) it'll be available in the US.

Abercrombie gets naked again for new lingerie line

Days after the news broke that Abercrombie & Fitch would be re-launching their soft-core porn catalog, the company is at it again with a new high-end lingerie line. The line, called Gilly Hicks, isn't anything to write home about, but the ads are more, um, eye-catching.

Probably because they're filled with naked people.

So much so, that even if you do watch the video (for grown-ups only), it's pretty difficult to catch a glimpse of the sexy skivvies amidst all the bare breasts and manly backsides. Not that sexy lingerie ads are anything new -- but usually the point is show off the underwear, as most of us are already aware that models look good naked.

That said, if you're interested in giving Gilly Hicks a test drive, you'll be able to buy your own by the end of the month.

Maggie Gyllenhaal posed in her undies 'as an art project'

Filed under: Swimwear and Lingerie, Celebrities with Style

Last summer we brought you the news that Maggie Gyllenhaal was posing in sexy skivvies for lingerie maker Agent Provocateur. At the time the world wasn't quite sure they were ready for the quirky actress to tempt us in seductive underoos, and it sounds like Maggie wasn't too sure about it either.

She told the UK's Metro newspaper that:

"I couldn't believe how it made me look. The whole thing was a pleasure to do. When they came out, though, I was a bit surprised. Somehow I hadn't understood that there'd be all these pictures of me out there in my underwear. I did it as an art project."

Erm. OK. Seems to me if you'd ever heard of Agent Provocateur, seen one of their TV ads (don't watch that at the office, by the way), or picked up one of their catalogs you'd be pretty clear that modeling for them meant posing in next to nothing. Maggie, on the other hand, is apparently not a master of the obvious.

Girdle for men actually tones thighs and hips

Filed under: Swimwear and Lingerie, Men

It's the worst feeling when you pull out your favorite dinner party outfit, only to find that you've put on a little weight -- and it shows. Fortunately, we guys don't have to suck it in all night. We can let our underwear do it for us -- with a man girdle!

But Wacoal Holdings, the company responsible for the stomach-shrinking undergarment, has recently released a product that's even more astounding. Called the "ex walker," the new underwear not only makes your mid-section appear more compact, but also shapes your thighs and hips in the process. How awesome is that?

Unfortunately the muscle-toning man girdle won't be available until 2010, and is being marketed as a "health product" (as opposed to "the lazy man's way to look like you bother working out," which is how I would've pitched it) -- so keep your eyes peeled in the fitness section of your local department store in a couple years.

Victoria's Secret sale: Selfish guys find last minute gifts!

Filed under: Swimwear and Lingerie, Steals and Deals

Racking your brain trying to think of a last minute gift for the special lady in your life? There's only four shopping days left until Christmas. So if you've been putting it off, the time to act is right now.

I know, I know -- sometimes it's hard to think of what to give someone else. Maybe this year you shouldn't bother trying to be considerate, and instead get her something that you'll really enjoy -- sexy lingerie! Even better, is that Victoria's Secret has just launched their Semi-Annual Sale, so you can buy the hottest undies at almost half the price.

It's a Christmas miracle!

"Intelligent bra" helps keep the ladies where they belong

For large-chested women, exercise isn't easy. In fact, even a quick sprint to the elevator can be a little painful. As part of an effort to relieve this breast-related pain and aggravation, a team of Australian scientists are developing a new kind of underwear that helps keep your boobs secure.

The new "intelligent" bra is the first step in designing a new garment that goes way beyond your boring old sports bra. It's fitted with tiny sensors that measure any movement in the breast, and thus has been providing manufacturers with the information they need to make a better-holding brassiere.

During testing, scientists discovered that: "Apart from strap-related pain, many females, particularly large-breasted women, are restricted from participating in physical activity due to exercise-induced breast pain associated with excessive vertical breast displacement." And by that I think they mean: if they bounce too much, it hurts.

So breathe a sigh of relief, ladies. It appears you won't have to endure the pain much longer.

What men really think about your underwear

Planning on seducing your man with some ultra-lacy push-up number? Think again.

The Daily Mail recently asked a panel of underwear experts to rate some different options in ladies' lingerie, and the results might surprise you.

It turns out the over-complicated, stripper-style stuff you're likely to find at Ann Summers or Frederick's of Hollywood just doesn't do it for most guys -- in fact, some even find it intimidating. Instead, the looks that got the hottest response from the panelists were far more cutesy -- "those that suggest innocence and fun."

My favorite response to a particularly overbearing outfit comes from Scott Manson (former editor of the men's magazine Loaded). He writes: "This sort of look used to be sexy but not it just makes men think of large Adam's-appled drag artists, which is never a good thing to cross your mind in the bedroom."

Totally true.

Gaming Bra and Boxers let you play games by touching each other

It's for playing games. Video games.I've never really thought of video games as foreplay -- but I will now!

The Gaming Bra and Boxers have been invented for all of you that get turned on by the idea of Laura Croft kicking alien butt (or Mario beating up Koopa, I guess -- if that's what you're into).

It works like this: both the boxers and the bra have 6 sensors on board, which you touch in order to play the game. Essentially, you're replacing the traditional controller or joystick with your...um...joystick.

Rumor has it that some of the buttons are "in much more intimate spots than others," which begs the question: if that's really all that's controlling the action, how the hell would you concentrate on playing with it? (And by "it," I mean "the controller," you perv.)

Back fat be gone!

A little back bulge is inevitable in life, but the important thing to remember is that the rolls are not your fault -- they're your bra's. So if you want to get rid of the lumpy back look, you could do hundreds of push-ups (unlikely to work in the first place) or you could get a bra that doesn't turn you into a stuffed sausage.

Sassybax bras are the perfect solution for creating smooth lines. Slimming your back and torso like control-top pantyhose slim your booty, the Sassybax bra lets your clothes do their thing without the distraction of a strap lump. The bra comes in under wire, strapless, a torso-slimming camisole and a wireless bralette. They aren't cheap, but they certainly are worth it.

Read on to find out more about body-slimming support.
