OK, we haven't heard anything about Pierre Cardin designing costumes for a trippy sci-fi/adventure movie, but at least that would be a reasonable explanation for this funky down jacket with an antennae on top! This design, along with others of equal weirdness, were unveiled by Cardin as part of his Spring-Summer 2009 and Autumn-Winter 2009 collections at his home in southern France last week.

Let's hope this particular jacket is part of the Halloween Costume collection, otherwise we'd really have to wonder about Pierre's sense of reality. Usually, we're not too crazy about collections that are designed just to attract attention, but Cardin's collection really takes it to the next level. We have no idea why he chose to dress models up like the ghosts from Pac Man, but we like it. Other highlights of this playful collection are what we call Black Hole Woman and her evil twin Psychedelic Swirl Girl -- perhaps out two favorites.

So, is there any possibility that the styles in this collection will translate into everyday fashion? Please say yes. Maybe in a really fashion-forward place like Tokyo?

In a fashion first, H&M is going to manufacture and sell a dress designed by gamer Beau Fornillos, who made it while playing Sims 2. Literally while playing, as in Fornillos made it as part of the game!

Sims players have been able to "shop" at H&M for over a year. Fornillos uploaded his design from the game to to an online runway, where it was judged the winner. His prize is having it brought to life by H&M.

This LA Times story describes the shift in gaming that is bringing fashion to the xBox and Nintendo DS, not to mention the monster that is Wii. From Karl Largerfeld's cameo in Grand Theft Auto to the Japanese street style game "That's QT" (which we can't wait to try, it's all goth lolitas and harajuku girls!) fashion is a viable subject for video games because at last girls are a viable target market for video games.

I worked on the yellow carpet for video game sensation Rock Band while the Universal Studios back lot burnt down. It took two hours to get to press check-in. I was on a stage at the very end of the carpet with some skilled video-game designers who have a knack for virtual rocking. From Stone Temple Pilots to Queens of the Stone Age, these guys knew every four-button combo of every song.

Being at the end of the carpet, most didn't want to stop, let alone play a three minute karaoke version of Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive." I got some good talent nonetheless: Carson Daly, Cisco Adler, the Pussycat Dolls, Tila Tequila and so many others.

There's a new year around the corner, folks, and that means it's time for new New Year's resolutions! What will you do in 2008? Finally get around to painting that extra room? Finish level three Italian? Find a better plastic surgeon? Well, I can't help you with those, but I certainly can give a few pointers on some of the more common resolutions that people make. Be more organized: Sometimes the best way to organize is with good, old-fashioned pen and paper. Unfortunately, "paper" doesn't always mean "post-its", which tend to become part of the clutter it originally set out to sort out. One very stylish and sophisticated item that has done wonders for people all over the world is the Moleskine notebook. Moleskines come in a variety of sizes and types, from small to big to sketchbooks to address books. They're black and compact and, best of all, always lie completely flat when you open them up. No annoying curve in the middle! Also, there's a little pocket on the inside back cover for any loose notes. Sometimes having a pretty notebook is just enough of a motivation to get organized. Common Moleskine users are generally the artsy hipster types and are easily identifiable by their constant ravings about how much they love their notebooks.

Here's a good excuse for people to stare at your chest -- an animated t-shirt from Think Geek featuring old school, video game table tennis. Classic!

With all the hubbub over retro gaming recently, this throw-back will undoubtedly win you points with the hipster set. Plus, it only takes two AAA batteries (concealed in an inside pocket) to work, and you can remove the image screen for washing -- thus, it actually seems wearable.

From the makers: Don't get too impressed. This was originally supposed to be the "Animated Gears of War Shirt" but by the time we strapped a 360 to the back of the shirt and added a flatscreen to the front it just wasn't feasible. The test subjects kept falling over, no one liked the car battery power supply duct taped to their leg and don't even get us started on the price.

Ok, so maybe it's not quite what they intended, but it's only $25, it looks awesome, and the animated gamers never miss a shot. I'm not sure it could get any cooler.
