Obama supports your right to wear saggy pants - Regime change

Filed under: Style in the News

This year, we've run across multiple stories about men getting ticketed -- or in some cases, arrested -- for wearing saggy pants under Florida's saggy pants ordinances. Needless to say, we stand opposed to any attempts to legislate fashion, no matter how stupid or ugly it looks. So, it's nice to find out that President-elect Obama shares our views and doesn't plan to create a 'Department of Homeland Fashion Police' or anything like that. Phew.

Chief Dicks puts smack down on butt cracks

It's a tough world we live in -- theft, murder...and baggy pants. Clearly someone has to put a stop to this menace, and what better way to spend police time than to arrest people whose trousers sag below their waist?

After revealing your undies was deemed unlawful in Louisiana, and some college kid (and his entire family) got arrested over a pair of ill-fitting slacks in Florida, it's really no surprise that Flint, Michigan Chief of Police, David Dicks, has ordered officers to remain vigilant in defending the public against unsightly butt cracks. He told the local paper that "This immoral self-expression goes beyond free speech," and has thus been deemed "indecent exposure" (which is an offense that warrants arrest).

So, It seems that some style fouls are so bad that they can't be handled by the fashion police -- you have to call the actual police instead. Go figure. You get 'em, Dicks!

Naomi snubbed at Mandela b-day party

Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrities with Style, Style for a Cause

Ouch
. Supermodel or not, you hock a loogie on a cop at Heathrow, you have to deal with some ugly fallout. Campbell -- who was slated to emcee a portion of Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday concert -- was pulled when the legendary activist figure personally requested that she not be allowed to take the stage in London's Hyde Park.

We didn't know this, but apparently the supermodel was wearing a ball cap with '46664' (as in 46664 Concerts) embroidered on it at the time of her loogie arrest. That also happens to be the prison ID# Mandela wore for his 27 years on the inside.

The relationship between the supermodel and the human rights legend goes back almost a decade. Most recently, Mandela counseled Naomi for her anger problem after the 2006 cell phone incident. According to 46664 Concerts, Naomi was set to play "an integral" part in the festivities -- instead, she'll be watching from the nosebleeds.

Naomi Campbell: the loogey heard round the world

Back in February, we told you that super-hot Naomi Campbell might have an infectious disease, now it seems that she's trying to spread it to one of London's finest. Allegedly, the 37 year-old supermodel got into it with a cop at Heathrow Airport and decided to vent her frustrations by hocking a loogey on the officer. We can't find any details about where the spit landed, but knowing Naomi's anger issues, we image that it splattered in the cop's face.

Pedicure bandit brought to justice

Marshall G. Wolbers was enjoying the good life -- pedicures, spa treatments, the works. Only, he wasn't willing to pay for it. In at least 20 different spas over the past month, when it came time to settle the bill, Wolbers would claim to need "something from his car," then split, leaving the salon sans payment.

Authorities had been circulating a description of Wolbers throughout southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois -- where he'd been operating his scam. Police finally spotted the pedicure-fanatic driving through the Chicago suburbs -- but he refused to pull over, instead evading the cops after a reckless chase.

Two days later, he was arrested later at a local train station.

Finally, the spa is safe again.
