Graffiti T-shirts

How many times have you been in a public restroom and experienced something really moving?

Wait. That didn't sound right. We're talking moving in the message. Graffiti that hits home. Sure, most of the stuff painted, inked and scratched into a bathroom stall is offensive and stupid, but there are a few gems out there. Bathroom graffiti is the new fortune cookie.

The fashionable brush their teeth on the runway, baby

Filed under: Runway Trends, Celebrities with Style

We told you the new Oral B Pulsonic toothbrush was super stylish. Now we have corroboration from NY Fashion Week, where it made an appearance on the Dash & Smooch runway and at the "Ultimate Fashonista Bathroom" over at Style 360.

Oral B partnered with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition interior designer Michael Moloney to create a bathroon inspired by the ultra-slim electric toothbrush. That appeared to involve a lot of silver, which makes sense. Fashionistas love to look at themselves, right? Also, the Pulsonic supposed to make your teeth whiter, and Michael has amazingly white teeth, so it's a natural match.

Most.fashionable.urinal.ever

It's been far too long since someone sat down and put some serious artistic thought into peeing standing up. So it's great that this Italian sculptor realized that the urinal was way overdue for a redesign. Seriously, this is the most artful urinal design the world has ever seen -- not that there have been very many good ones. It seems like ever since Duchamp hung that urinal upside down in Paris, it's all been down hill -- until now.

Designer Massimiliano De Falco brings hints of origami into his very modern urinal design. It's called the Bat(h)man, and it has nothing to do with superheroes -- except maybe that maybe Bruce Wayne would probably put one in his mansion. I know I would, if I were him.

This welded-steel contraption would definitely enhance the style factor of the men's room. I would definitely consider putting a splash guard across the back of it though, or that wall is not going to be happy.

Make your toilet paper chic with origami

How classy!

You know those fancy-shmancy hotels where everything is so sophisticated that they even took time to style the toilet paper?

It may seem like a total waste of time ('cause seriously, does anything think about visual aesthetics when they're wiping their butt?), but if you're the sort of person who likes a really classy bathroom, now you too can achieve the delicately crafted designs of origami toilet paper.

You can learn the standard triangle, the pleat, or even -- for the advanced origami artists among you -- the pleated-tuck.

In the event that you try this at home, please take photos and send us the link. I'd love to see how yours turn out.

Therapy in the bathroom

The New York Times published a piece which flaunts how baby boomers are spoiling themselves and their bathrooms -- with sound systems, refrigerators, fireplaces, and bathtubs big enough to fit two people comfortably.

This is all a part of the increasingly popular idea that the bathroom is the new getaway room -- a place where couples can chat as they get (un)dressed in the mornings and evenings, and also an area to hide from the rest of the household.

This departure from tradition is a little disturbing. What happened to going on a walk for a heart-to-heart and talking out problems, instead of hiding in the master bathroom? Or maybe it's just that I'm jealous.
