Gola sneakers go couture - do they score?

Some people like to mix it up, get some high style points while still looking young and rebellious -- we get it. If that sounds like you, you may want to check out the product of team effort put forward by British soccer shoe company Gola and designer Christian Lacroix. The goal of this team was to bring a sense of couture to the usually sporty and utilitarian look of Gola footwear -- and to sell sneakers for $400. If you think they look kinda fugly, you're not alone.

While we applaud the adventurous spirit, we think these sneaks look like a pair of Golas had a lovechild with a BeDazzler. To us, the whole concept of 'couture sneakers' just seems a bit asinine. Either you go with the toned-down look of sneakers, or you for a more formal shoe. We make no bones about the fact that we love sneakers and think they can be very fashionable -- but they just can't do everything.

The couture sneakers trend kinda reminds us of the tuxedo t-shirt -- but in a bad way (if that's possible). These kicks kinda lack that sense of fashion irony.

Mischa Barton - Queen of the look gets her own line of head bands

Filed under: Accessories, Celebrities with Style, Celebrity Fashion Mistakes

(Click the photo to see who's hopping on the head band bandwagon)

Mischa Barton, style vixen and unabashed head band lover, has been rewarded for her loyalty to the look with her very own line of head bands.

Under the guidance of designer Stacey Lapidus, and one presumes the assistance of an army of Bedazzler wielding minions, Mischa will create "bejeweled and feather-adorned accessories." Sounds magical magickal.

You can't really put a price on fashion like this (some would say that Claire's does a pretty good job) but the "pieces" in Mischa's new line will go from $40 to $200.

As inspired as Mischa may be when it comes to head bands, she is hardly alone in her love of cranial adornment. In the gallery, a few priceless moments in celebrity head gear.

Sometimes good girls show their bras, but only for charity

Filed under: Style in the News, Swimwear and Lingerie, Style for a Cause

Usually we encourage ladies to keep their bra straps -- not to mention their bra cups -- well covered. But in this case, we are asking you to do the opposite. Even the rules of decorum can be lifted for a good cause.

Bling for your Crocs

By now I think we're all familiar with Crocs, the lightweight rubber half-shoe, half-clog that come in a variety of some pretty bright (and pretty darn tacky) colors. I guess the vast array of colors wasn't enough for Crocs connoisseurs, however, because you can now personalize your Crocs with footballs, flowers, flags, and peace signs.

Jibbitz makes these little rubber inserts that go in the holes found on the standard Crocs. They remind me of the once popular BeDazzler -- except it's for a pair of clogs. With Jibbitz, it's possible to make Crocs even more tacky! Pick out a few letter inserts and spell your name on your Crocs, or even show how much you love your dog with a rubber poodle insert.

I can't say that I agree with doing this, as I'm not a big fan of the normal Crocs in the first place. So, unless you're less than 10 or older than 60 -- yes, I think a grandma could pull it off! -- then stay away!

A set of 7 Jibbitz will run you $17.43, or about $2.50 for individual pieces.
