Sea of Shoes blogger Jane Aldridge may only be 17, but she's already gained a cult following and created quite a name for herself in the fashion blogosphere.

And now, the Texas high school senior can add "designer" to her college applications -- she's launching a shoe collection in collaboration with Urban Outfitters!

To liven up the school uniform Aldridge wears 5 days a week, she opts for killer shoes, wearing everything from Chanel booties to Margiela clogs. Recently, the Dallas teen went all-out luxe in a pair of YSL cage sandals. Okay, now we're jealous. She's 17!

The Tom Ford webcam incident

Apparently, celebrity blogging can be a dangerous business. Just ask George Johnson, a blogger and newspaper editor in Santa Fe. When he discovered that Tom Ford was building a mansion across the street, he did what any good neighbor would do -- put up a webcam. Then last Monday, while he and his wife were asleep in their bedroom, expert cat burglars broke into the office where Johnson was filming and made off with his Mac Pro, 2 monitors, hard drive, and of course -- the Tom Ford webcam.

Now, we're not trying to say that the webcam espionage had anything to do with the burglary, we're just pointing out that a coincidence occurred when a blogger was spying on a international celebrity. We don't really understand why the guy wanted to video tape the construction anyway. We've seen homes being built, it's a mind-numbing. Maybe he was hoping to catch a couple pics of Ford inspecting the building progress. Sinister.

Nerd jewelry: the comma necklace

Great news for fans of punctuation! It seems that all kinds of nerdy symbols -- no matter how esoteric or boring -- are being immortalized in the form of novelty jewelry these days. We don't know why, but we think it has something to do with the fact that people want their jewelry to mean something. For scientists: it's periodic table rings, for computer geeks: Kenneth Cole emoticon cuff links, for bloggers: the comma necklace. It's nice to finally see the short pause getting some respect.

It's hard to imagine very many people wanting a comma pendant, and that's probably why it seems cool to the tiny percentage of people who identify with punctuation marks. The comma pendant is cool in theory, but really, we're bigger fans of the Em dash. Anyhow, it's not exactly the most fashionable piece we've seen lately, but it's semi-meaningful. Maybe it'd be a good gift for an English teacher. At least it's small enough to be subtle.
