five must haves for spring
You can't shop or surf the Internet these days without being reminded that yes, you should totally be shopping for Spring things, even though it might still feel like the Arctic. Get over it. Spring Trendwatch: Romance, via a blouse

nanette leporeIt's cold, gray, and raining, y'all, and while that certainly isn't unusual for February, I live in southern California. Isn't it supposed to be something like 70 degrees here year round? And even if it weren't, I swear -- I am almost certain of it -- that several weeks ago, the groundhog predicted Spring's sooner arrival!

Why all the whining? Well, I'm just anxious to break out my Spring clothes because the trends that are on deck for the coming season are totally wearable. No outrageous proportions, no crazy color combinations (except of course, yellow, which will just never look right on me). My favorite thing of all is the trend toward "feminine," which includes romantic blouses with lots of lace, ruffles, and delicate detailing -- whether that's a pintucked blouse with flowing sleeves like the one shown by Nanette Lepore or a feminine take on the tuxedo shirt with lots of ruffles.

Look out in the next few days as we go through more of Spring's coming trends!

I like 'em wrinkle-free

If ironing isn't your thing, you'll be happy to hear that the newest generation of wrinkle-free dress shirts manage to look and feel just like regular shirts. Foxcroft blouses, available at Nordstroms are made from 100% cotton that has been specially treated to go from your washing machine to your drying rack to your body without the extra step of an iron and a can of starch.

Foxcroft blouses come in a variety of patterns and styles, including plus-sizes. Even though wrinkle-free may not have the same crisp feel of a freshly laundered shirt, Foxcroft's tops certainly beat the alternative of looking like you just slept in your blouse. And really, the only thing better than being wrinkle-free is getting to live iron-free!
