The Tom Ford webcam incident

Apparently, celebrity blogging can be a dangerous business. Just ask George Johnson, a blogger and newspaper editor in Santa Fe. When he discovered that Tom Ford was building a mansion across the street, he did what any good neighbor would do -- put up a webcam. Then last Monday, while he and his wife were asleep in their bedroom, expert cat burglars broke into the office where Johnson was filming and made off with his Mac Pro, 2 monitors, hard drive, and of course -- the Tom Ford webcam.

Now, we're not trying to say that the webcam espionage had anything to do with the burglary, we're just pointing out that a coincidence occurred when a blogger was spying on a international celebrity. We don't really understand why the guy wanted to video tape the construction anyway. We've seen homes being built, it's a mind-numbing. Maybe he was hoping to catch a couple pics of Ford inspecting the building progress. Sinister.

Cage catches jacket thief

Filed under: Style in the News, Men

nicolas cage leather jacketNicolas Cage's woke up in his Los Angeles home on October 3, 2007 only to find an intruder standing in his doorway wearing one of his leather jackets. Cage remained calm and asked the intruder to remove the jacket and escorted him outside.

The defendant, Robert Furo, "... is accused of breaking into the home of Cage ... and wearing his jacket." Furo was charged with residential burglary and was sent to jail on $100,000 bond.

It is pretty amazing that someone has the nerve breaks into a celebrity's home (or anyone's home for that matter). But what is more shocking is that once you get away with the impossible, why would you try on clothes? Go for the big ticket items and get the heck out of there.

At least no one got hurt, and Nicolas was able to keep his composure. If it were me, I would be crying in the corner after I told the robber to give me my jacket back.
