Tongue art on the rise - A bold new canvas?

Filed under: Skin Care, Daily Obsession

In our effort to stay on top of all of the latest trends in body art -- especially the stuff that is exceedingly weird or gross -- we couldn't help but to cover the creepy world of tongue art. Sure, we've all seen tongue piercings -- but that's only the beginning. Tongue art is not limited to simple studs or tattoos, creative tongues the world over are lapping up their new role as the latest canvas on which to show body art.

Chinese street styles: Feiyue Shaolin sneakers

Now that China has become a major fashion -- as well as an economic -- force in the world, we think it's time to take a closer look at some of their street wear, starting with these awesome shoes. In addition to the fact that the Feiyue Shaolin sneaker is to the Chinese what the Converse All Star is to us in the States -- Kung Fu masters apparently love these old school canvas and rubber sneakers.

It's true, look it up. These very economical canvas sneakers have been a staple in China since the 20's and are sold all over the internet as Kung Fu accessories. We can't really see how they're particularly suited for martial arts, but we do think they'd make a great pair of summer shoes. We like the retro style, it's like a hybrid of the All Star and the PF Flyer -- which are both classic. The advantage with these babies is that they're way cheaper, and you probably won't run across anybody else who's wearing them.

Ecologie bags

Filed under: Handbags, Accessories, Green Fashion

We're big fans of the environment, and of cute accessories, so we're always happy to find a new fun bag that succeeds on both levels like this Ecologie bag.

Ecologie bags remind us of the preppy canvas bags we carried in grade school, with their boxy shape and contrasting handles. But unlike those ice haulers, these bags are made of a lightweight, machine washable fabric that is also durable and reusable. And did we mention light?

The new Coach bag: Ergo

At last a Coach bag without that extra ten pounds of crazy brass hardware weighing it down. We've loved the style of Coach for years, but our little shoulders, or our habit of carrying everything in the world in our bag, kept us from ever getting one.

The company finally figured out that they're missing a target market, Bag Crazy Bag Ladies, and came out with a new line called "Ergo" which is short for ergonomic. Lightweight, soft, with clean lines, we're very tempted by these bags. They're still crazy expensive, but the Coach story has always been "you'll have it forever" so maybe that works for you. Prices and some pretty colors in the gallery.

When you check out the site, make sure to click on the awesome "Try this bag on" feature on the site. It shows you the scale of the bag on an average woman, both holding it in your hand and on your shoulder.

Ice Cream waffles, bag and shoes

Filed under: Handbags, Accessories, Style in the News, Clothing, Shoes, Men, Celebrities with Style

We are big fans of all things ice cream and/or waffles. It's a guilty pleasure that we don't really feel all that guilty about.

That's why we were so excited to see Billionaire Boys Club sister brand Ice Cream, both part of Pharrell's master plan to take over the world, release the "Ice Cream Canvas Waffle Shoes" and "Ice Cream Waffle Messenger Bag." These things of ice cream and waffle won't make you fat, but they can make you phat. Yes, I really wrote that.

Artcotic makes artsy t-shirts

Filed under: Style in the News, Clothing, Men

Perhaps the concept of a t-shirt as art isn't as novel as I thought. However, I believe that it is still more exception than norm. T-shirts offering a casual canvas for high-brow art is an ingenious way to bring culture to the masses. They look great and feel good. Anything that meets at the corners of comfort and style is okay in my book.

Today we are looking at Artcotic. They, according to the website, "are an interactive community of artists, designers, and coinsures of unique and original art."

This is what they create:
