Patricia Field's 5-Finger Half Gloves from Sex and the City

Filed under: Product Reviews, Daily Obsession, Get the Look

Gloves are usually unnecessary and impractical--especially when you live in Los Angeles. But they are also devastatingly glamorous and fun, and now that Labor Day has come and gone, glove season is fast approaching.

After falling in love with the half gloves Sarah Jessica Parker wears while talking on a pay phone in Sex and the City, we were happy to discover they were available online. Patricia Field, who designed Carrie's original pair, is selling replicas for the reasonable price of $48. The good news: we just got ours, and they're even cooler than we could have imagined. The bad news: they're on back order yet again, and this time until November.

Tobi.com wants to help you bring out your inner Carrie Bradshaw

Filed under: Clothing, Dresses, Celebrities with Style

How many times have you watched Sex and the City and thought, "Boy, I'd love wear clothes like that with as much chutzpah as (insert favorite SATC gal here), but I don't even know where to begin!"? It can be intimidating to go shopping on your own when you're looking for a signature style, whether it's your very own or "borrowed" from your favorite SATC character.

Tobi.com wants to make it a little easier for you to dress with serious style. They offer a personal stylist feature that will give you the guidance you need to dress like Carrie, Miranda, Samantha or Charlotte. If you're still not sure, check out our gallery to see some of their suggestions for character-based ensembles.

Carrie and Mr.Big takeover Vogue

It has finally arrived. Well, sort of. The hotly-anticipated Sex and the City feature film hits theaters on May 30th.

And Vogue has tapped the flick's stars, Sara Jessica Parker (Carrie) and Chis North (Mr.Big), to front their June issue. The accompanying editorial with the two is called "Rebel Romance," and features the on-screen lovers in various locations getting intimate -- while wearing the chicest outfits, of course.

Style.com just added this video of the shoot, which was photographed by Annie Lebowitz over a period of three days back in March. There is also a sneak peak of a scene from the movie that depicts Carrie striking a pose for a fictional age issue of Vogue.

Steve & Barry's will carry SATC merchandise

Filed under: Style in the News

After posing alongside Mr. Big for an upcoming issue of Vogue, and sitting pretty on Oprah's couch, Sarah Jessica Parker now wants to sell us Sex and the City merch.

Steve & Barry's, who produces SJP's inexpensive clothing line Bitten, has been tapped to create the collection of t-shirts and tank tops in honor of the block-buster summer flick, which opens on May 30th.

Much like the four girls themselves, the pieces come equipped with sassy phrases like "I'm with Mr. Big" and "I (Heart) Sex and the City." Meanwhile, the rest of the items will feature the faces of the movie's stars.

Even cooler, though, is the fact that everything will go for $8.99 or less, which means you can save the rest of your cash for the popcorn and candy.

Must-have accessory for Sex and the City movie: Cutesy Heart Flask

Who better than Patricia Field, stylist for the Sex and the City gals, to give us the perfect accessory for the Sex and the City movie? Well, truth be told, I'm sure there are lots of must-haves. I mean, you can't go without Manolos on your feet and a Carrie Bradshaw-approved bag on your arm, right?

Well, even better, or at least far less expensive, is the Cutesy Heart Flask. At just $26, it's totally affordable, and useful. You could fill it up with, you know, hot chocolate, or soda, or the obvious -- COSMOS -- before hitting the movie theater for the big premiere and feel right at home with Carrie, Miranda, Samantha, and Charlotte.

Although, since we're talking about a feature length movie, you might want to bring two of them since they only hold 6 oz. each. That way, if the movie isn't meeting your expectations, you don't have to worry because you probably won't remember it anyway!

Leg up for argyle socks

Filed under: Accessories, Celebrities with Style

sex and the city movie argyle socksHosiery is having quite the fashion revival this winter. Tights, leggings, thigh highs, leg warmers and socks are appearing on the most fashion forward girls. I, for one, cannot live without black opaque tights as they keep me warm and stylish.

I don't plan on ditching my tights anytime soon, but I would like to add to them to make the a bit more exciting. I have been toying with my '80s throwback side by layering with leg warmers but today I was on a mission to find over-the-knee socks, argyle to be specific.

Finding knee-high argyle socks is child's play. Just go to Target or any department store and you are sure to find them. Finding the over-the-knee variation was a bit tougher. After fighting through a few post Thanksgiving sale nut jobs, I found myself in Loehmann's. Bingo! Argyle over-the-knee socks with cashmere for only $14.99. They were originally $45.

Be a risk taker like Carrie Bradshaw and wear them with a mini dress or take it down a notch like me and wear them with opaque tights and shorts.
