Claire Goose - From Red Carpet to Your Closet

Filed under: Celebrities with Style, Red Carpet Trends, Get the Look

Let us answer your first question -- Claire Goose is a British actress who has a really fun sense of fashion. She hasn't hit a ton of red carpet events, but she's nailed about 85 percent of the ones she's attended (and even when we're not digging what she's wearing, it's not awful. It's just not what we would've picked). And, if your second question is, "How do I get that look?" you're in luck -- we've got it all spelled out for you in the gallery!

Skin of the City tees keep the city near your heart

Skin of the CityWe're always on the look-out for shirts that shake things up and make this casual wear something more than just sloppy. These Skin of the City t-shirts remind us of the beauty of a simple all-over design. Our favorites are these prints of ghostly, bare trees. Reminiscent of Northern winters or the circulatory system, this shirt adds interesting detail to an otherwise plain shirt.

We can see it now: This shirt, plus a pair of dark wash jeans or black trousers and a well-structured, neutral-colored jacket on top, preferably military-inspired cutting. The other shirt designs, flattened images of buildings and brick walls stretched across your torso, are pretty cool, but the stunning impact of so many strong little lines do the trick for us.

This isn't the first time we've ooh'd and ahh'd over shirts. Check out these previous StyleList posts about everyone's favorite go-to item: Threadless shirts, geek tees, opinionated tops.

Why aren't you wearing this? Sbicca 'Rosey' Slide

Filed under: Accessories, Shoes, Must Haves

We're all about a high, sexy heel, but truth be told, we're not all that likely to to wear a shoe like this out to run errands. Theoretically, it seems like a great idea, but doing a lot of purposeful walking in a stiletto doesn't really appeal. That being said, we don't want to give up the look of a heel and look like a schlub when we're out in public, right?

Most of us have days involving a hundred errands in nearly as many places, meaning we've got a full day on our feet ahead of us. It's official: The Gap shirts have landed

Filed under: Style in the News

As we mentioned last week, Gap's second collection of limited-edition pieces inspired by the classic white shirt hits stores today.

All of the chic garments were created exclusively by finalists of the 2007 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund -- which helps emerging American design talent find continued success in the business side of fashion.

How is that? Anna Wintour puts the struggling designer in her fashion bible -- aka Vogue. And the exposure usually does wonders for the brand and the image of the lucky designer.

Further adventures in Diddy t-shirts

Filed under: Clothing, Men, Celebrities with Style

Hey! Remember that one time Diddy made a t-shirt about the 2004 election? And it had a witty catchphrase on it? Boy, I sure do!

Well, the man, the myth, nay -- THE LEGEND has come up with a brand new shirt (using, oddly enough, the same font) with a brand new catchphrase!

Ladies and Gentlemen.....No Bitchassness. Say it loud and proud -- you are bitchassness free! You will have none! If you see bitchassness in the street, you will let it lie.

Other possible suggestions for Diddy t-shirt catchphrases:
  • Vote or Be Bitchassed
  • I am against your penchant for bitchassness
  • Please refrain from either bitching or assing
  • Bitchass says RELAX!
I'm surprised, with the nascence of his two young daughters, that this slogan isn't available on a romper.

I'm not even sure what this means. Besides Diddy having entirely too much money to blow on t-shirt manufacturing, obviously. But really, when you get down to it, my only question is....why don't I have this shirt!?

Go ahead, tank the farm

Filed under: Style in the News, Clothing, Men

Tankfarm seems pretty sure of themselves. Not that one needs to be modest to design a quality garment. Hell, if Project Runway has taught us anything it is that the opposite is usually the case. That said, Tankfarm does make a great product.

This is how they describe themselves: "From the dust of the Earth, we are the new blood. We are the American independent. We are the romance of nature courting industry. We are the road and the journey."

Their clothing is "a blend of timeless vintage and adapted street wear for the modern day working man," which "strives to be the brand that can outfit the working man's daily life and his ongoing journey."

Does that sound self-righteous? Maybe. I like to think it's a hybrid of reflection and optimism. If you want righteous check out their shirts:

See, righteous indeed.

The company cites such influences as Dylan and Cash, stating that music is their passion and as such they have a musical motif woven throughout many of their vintage and nostalgic themes and designs. They channel Americana, "referential to the birth of rock'n'roll and a slower and more meaningful time."

Mom, apple pie and bad ass t-shirts. I can salute that.
