Marilyn Monroe coming out with a clothing line

Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrities with Style

Marilyn Monroe's style has influenced countless red carpet choices, and now it appears she'll be posthumously influencing countless non-famous young women, as well.

WWD reports that New Jersey-based Bradford Licensing Associates and U.K.-based Blues Clothing have joined forces to create a Marilyn Monroe celebrity clothing line.

Calavena by Wilmer Valderrama

Filed under: Men, Celebrities with Style

Wilmer must be bored -- like really bored because he has fallen into the celebrity clothing line flytrap.

Calavena is Wilmer Valderrama's clothing line especially for men who want to show off their upper bodies. Seriously, that is the silliest thing I have ever heard. Wait, this is the silliest thing I have ever heard: "I wanted a t-shirt that flatters the upper body and camouflages what we've got bottom, 'cause sometimes we let ourselves go a little bit. I've had my days, believe me." Thanks for the wise words Wilmer, now all men can aspire to show off their upper bodies and get babes like Lindsay Lohan and Mandy Moore.

Wilmer Valderrama's fame truly stuns me. I mean he isn't all that attractive, he was on one show playing a foreign exchange student, and then he goes and talks smack about all of the girls he used to sleep with ... Why again is he famous and why does he think people want to wear his clothes? Perhaps people do want to wear his clothes but to me the line is pretty plain looking. It consists of a plunging V neck tops (yes for men), a white hoodie, a standard black cap, and a black V neck that zips.

This one is for the boys: Would you wear it?

Meet Paris Hilton at Kitson

Did you ever think you could be so lucky? I can hardly contain myself [insert sarcasm here].

Paris Hilton will be at Kitson boutique on August 16th from 1-3pm promoting her new clothing line. Whether people are interested in what Paris has to sell or not you know the line to get in will be long. In order to skip ahead of the crowd you will need to purchase a gift voucher for $100 or more. Kitson claims that Paris Hilton will be on hand to personally style each of her fans. Right.

Paris' line already has two pieces available for pre-order on Kitson.com which includes the shirt she has been spotted around town in; you know the one with her own pop art inspired face on it. There is also a pair of cheesy $88 jeans, which I am pretty sure Paris wouldn't be caught dead in. The jeans are of the skinny variety, have a twisted seam which looks to be bedazzled with studs, and no back pockets. For those of you who don't know jeans with no back pockets is a huge fashion no-no, you may as well have "tramp" stamped on your rear.

So there you have it folks -- finally a Paris Hilton line of clothing because having Nikki hog up all of talent just wasn't enough; which proves that there is plenty of room in Hollywood for crappy celebrity clothing lines. Whew!

Penélope Cruz starts new clothing line

Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrities with Style

It seems like every time you turn around another celebrity has created a clothing line. The latest actress-turned-designer is Penélope Cruz, who's set to design a 25-piece collection with her younger sister, Monica.

The line, which includes accessories, will be sold through the Mango, a Spanish chain. Not surprisingly, the sisters will also be promoting their collection as the faces of the company's fall/winter ad campaign.

This isn't the first time the sisters have worked together in the fashion arena. They've already designed handbags and jewelery for Samantha Thavasa, a Japanese chain, and own a store together, called Amacord.

To be honest, I'm not a big enough Penélope Cruz fan to have any idea what her personal fashion sense is like, but the bags she and her sister designed for Samantha Thavasa -- though not awful -- are certainly nothing to write home about. I doubt we'll be seeing anything shocking original from this latest collaboration.
