Now women can smell like Antonio Banderas

Filed under: Fragrance, Celebrities with Style

Move over fragrance experts with your fancy Italian names, it seems that people can't get enough of fragrances by Queen Latifah, Avril Lavigne, Derek Jeter, and eve Tim McGraw. Antonio Banderas has apparently been such a successful name in the fragrance business, that he's teamed up with Puig Beauty USA to debut his first fragrance for women called Blue Seduction. We were pretty surprised to find that this will be the 5th fragrance to bear the Banderas name.

According to market analysts, celebrity fragrances are the hottest way to merge mass with class -- and Antonio Banderas' image is a near perfect sales rep. Antonio's Latin lover persona is apparently something that dudes want to emulate and women want to get with. If his success with men's cologne is any indicator, Blue Seduction should be a top 10 seller and the big chain stores. We remember when Michael Jordan's fragrance debuted in the 90's, it seemed really confusing and not so classy. We thought: who wants to smell like sweat and Gatorade? We were wrong.

Paula Abdul stinks

Filed under: Fragrance, Celebrities with Style

Ever want to know what painkillers, a bottle of vodka, and botched breast implants smell like? Just take a whiff of Paula Abdul's new signature fragrance and you will find out.

Yep that's right folks ... another celebrity branded perfume, as if our fragrance hangover wasn't bad enough with the lingering aroma of breast milk and malt liquor aka Britney Spears' perfume. And my nostrils are still bleeding from the stench of Marc Antony's morning breath and drag queen approved cosmetics aka J Lo's Glow perfume. Now, I have to be sick from Paula's perfume. Great. Just when I thought my day couldn't get any worse.

I would imagine if you were to actually spray this perfume on your body you would probably end up with a DUI (if you watch this video, you will know exactly what I mean). I watched the video twice and I still can't figure out the name of the perfume through Paula's drunken banter, I think she said Love Spell or something that has to do with love. But honestly, who cares ... is anyone really going to buy this trash? If anyone out there raised there hand "yes," I hope you don't like having friends because you won't have any after a spritz of this junk.

Eau de Derek Jeter?

Filed under: Style in the News, Men, Fragrance, Celebrities with Style

Yankee-fans, prepare to swoon! Team captain Derek Jeter has just agreed to lend his primping wisdom to the people with his own line of men's grooming products. Avon cosmetics plans to launch the Jeter-line this fall with a signature scent called, "Driven". Industry estimates suggest that a Jeter-related fragrance could yield between $10 to $15 million in the first year alone. Avon plans to expand the line in 2007, with an expanded collection of Jeter-essence, including a body wash, an after-shave balm and an antiperspirant deodorant stick.

Obviously, Avon hopes that "Driven" will mimic the success of other celebrity scent-makers like Madonna, Kate Moss and David Beckham.
