David Beckham talks about his career as an underwear model

Filed under: Style in the News, Men, Celebrities with Style

David Beckham may not have a future as an underwear model. Women everywhere went gaga for the huge Armani billboard featuring Becks in his skivvies. Probably the only female on the entire planet who wasn't happy about seeing the sexy soccer man's package on display was his "mum." As soon as she heard about her half naked son out on display she called to ask him what the heck he was doing! Keep reading to watch a clip of David's interview with Jay Leno.

For your heart, wear red today

Filed under: Stores We Love, Celebrities with Style, Style for a Cause

wear redNot that they should have to "market," of course, but if the American Heart Association is going to pick one month out of the year to focus on heart health, they sure did the right thing with picking February -- we've got nothing but hearts, uh, on our brains. Not only are we pounded from left, right and center with heart-shaped things, but everything is pink and red. It's quite perfect actually, because today is National Wear Red Day, in support of Go Red for Women, the American Heart Association's effort to wipe out heart disease in women.

And, just in case you needed any more reason to recognize the American Heart Association's effort, Macy's is doing a one-day sale today in support of National Wear Red Day. All you have to do is wear red into their stores and you get 15% off!

Saving women from heart disease and saving money at Macy's -- how awesome is that?

Natalie Portman's vegan shoes are almost here

Filed under: Accessories, Shoes, Celebrities with Style, Style for a Cause

Natalie PortmanSome of you may have already heard that Natalie Portman's new line of shoes is going to come out on January 15th. All her designs are animal-friendly, meaning they are cruelty-free and are produced in humane conditions. Even though I'm not quite as tenacious as Ms. Portman, I greatly admire the fact that she's put forth the effort to make this difference.

Elle.com has new pictures of the shoes and details on where to purchase. Each pair will set you back about $200. No one said it was cheap to be cruelty-free, unfortunately. Style-wise, I sort of feel like all of the shoes look a bit dated. I mean, they don't look necessarily out-of-fashion, but the preview pictures remind me of something I could have seen at a Nine West in 1998. I do rather like the shiny Mary Jane heels, though.

Psst... Honestly, I think most of the drive to buy is caused by the Natalie Portman name.

Would you wear jeans by Amy Winehouse?

Filed under: Style in the News, Clothing, Jeans, Celebrities with Style

According to this article, for some bizarre reason, several fashion houses are looking to "Rehab" singer Amy Winehouse to become the next celeb designer. The beehive-bearing songstress has been called on to come up with her own line of denim jeans and although no offers have been settled yet, the very thought of thousands of folks walking around looking like Winehouse is enough to make me lose a few weeks' worth of sleep.

Not only is her sense of style, uh, questionable, but, from the looks of her candid photos, she only owns about three pairs of pants, all in equally horrid states of squalor. Why in the world would anyone even entertain the notion of handing over design powers to her? And would you be willing to wear anything designed by her, judging by her current sense of style? Here's to hoping that she just sticks to her day job (which she is quite good at, by the way; "Back to Black" is excellent).

Amy Winehouse somehow looks better not done up

Usually, when I see a picture of a celebrity caught in her busted up PJs before her make-up routine, my eyes explode in a fit of horror. It's not a pretty sight. So, imagine my surprise when I saw this photo of Amy Winehouse leaving her house, looking very un-Winehouse-y. She still looks sickeningly skinny, but the fact that her ratty beehive isn't towering a foot above her and she doesn't have that winged eyeliner on makes a world of difference! It doesn't look like she's wearing any make-up at all, and yet it's a major upgrade. Gain back some of your weight, Winehouse, and you're going to have it all.

By the way, "Back to Black" is a pretty sweet album, so check it out. I'm sure more people would appreciate her and give her music a try if she didn't scare the crap out of anyone and everyone who sees her magazine covers.

John Mayer experiences the magic of a good haircut

Filed under: Men, Hair Care, Celebrities with Style

Musician John Mayer has always sported the messy singer-songwriter look. You know what I'm talking about... Shaggy hair, pasty face, sloppy shirts. However, the gossip blogosphere has recently exploded with pictures of Mayer's new clean-cut look. I must say, it's a huge upgrade. Really, the only big change was a sweet haircut, but look at what a difference it has made! It's amazing what such a minor change can do.

It looks like Mayer is on his way to a cooler, more sophisticated look. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for his increasingly orange Muppet girlfriend, Jessica Simpson.
