Ferrero Rocher Shares the Sweetness

Filed under: Style for a Cause

ferrero rocher candyNow that we have permission to eat chocolate for our health, at least between now and December 31st, we decided to make chocolate our decorating theme for the holidays. Bowls of bon bons on every available surface! And since they come in such pretty wrappers, Ferrero Rocher seems like the obvious choice for holiday house chocolate.

Eat chocolate, stay healthy - Tip of the day!

Chocolate

We all put on some pudge around the holidays. It's near impossible not to, what with all the candy, pies and what not from October 31 – January 1. But we aren't going to suffer this year with diet resolutions, squeezing into jeans, and crying over eaten pie. No sir.

Brewed Chocolate from Cabaret, my friend

Cabaret Brewed Chocolate isn't what you think- assuming you think it's some sort of hot cocoa. If you think it's an alternative to coffee, tea, or, gasp, wine, then it is what you think and you're a genius. Congratulations.

Lovers of chocolate swear by the uplifting qualities that it carries. This school of thought is enriched deep in history. In the days of yore ancient Mexican cultures regarded chocolate as something more than a snack, it was an experience. Cabaret wanted to bring cocoa back. So they brewed it.

Eva Longoria Parker launches Premium M&Ms and pregnancy rumors at NY Fashion Week

Filed under: Clothing, Celebrities with Style

Eva Longoria Parker had a pretty good time at Fashion Week, sitting in the front row of Diane Von Furstenberg next to Jennifer Lopez, and launching the new M&M's Premiums candy collection.

Some celebs get into fashion by doing a perfume line, like Britney (remember Curious? So long ago, but the scent lingers...) Others do shoes, like Jessica Simpson. We hear Mischa Barton is getting into the game with headbands.

We could totally see Eva partnering with some up and coming designer, even if she didn't try to make us believe that she was actually designing anything.

But no. She's at Fashion Week to talk chocolate.

It's so obvious. The choice to align herself with the iconic drugstore candy tells us more than a thousand PR flack "No Comments" can ever deny. Start the rumor mills, Eva is totally pregnant!

Tip of the Day: Homemade chocolate face mask

Filed under: Skin Care, Style Tip of the Day

We probably love chocolate a little bit... okay a lot. We love chocolate a lot. As you've probably been hearing, the antioxidants packed in dark chocolate is as beneficial as drinking a glass of red wine every day. But that's not the only way you can use the yummy cocoa bean to your advantage.

The dark stuff is also a good moisturizer, meaning, you can chop, mix, and melt it into a creamy mask that will replenish your skin and leave a beautiful glow behind.

What you will need...

Finally, a good Easter shirt

Filed under: Style in the News, Clothing, Men

I don't know how many times I've spent Easter morning dressed like some banker in a short-sleeved business shirt and a clip-on tie, looking for eggs and hoping that the Peeps didn't have E.coli (they don't). Of course that was when I was a kid (early 20's).

Nowadays I'm more likely to be sitting on the couch in my boxers and asking the kids to hunt Daddy another beer that the bunny hid in the icebox. Oh, family traditions.

No more. Thanks to the good folks at Snorg Tees I will once again be dressed on Easter Sunday, but this time with style.

The My Butt Hurts (16.95) (ladies) t-shirt brings forth a very delicate matter often overshadowed during the Easter season, "the perils of life as a chocolate bunny" (from website). What strikes me as, well, striking, is that the perils of the candy bunny seem disturbingly similar to those suffered by the Playboy Bunny, except for the ears part. Freaky, isn't it?

If Easter isn't your thing, or if you're just greedy, here are some other fine shirts from Snorg Tees:

Geeky, but almost cool: jewelry shaped like molecules

Here's a quick test to find out which of your friends is hiding an inner geek: jewelry shaped like molecules. Wear these on a night out, and wait to see who goes "Oh! An earring that looks like acetycholine! How cute!"

Not to rag on smart people -- I'm embarrassed to say my C+ in high school chemistry leaves me a little clueless in this arena.

If you're into the idea, the company also sells items fashioned after important chemicals like caffeine, estrogen, and chocolate -- you can even get testosterone boxers and oxytocin baby onesies. It's the easy way to look both cute and intelligent-- all in one fell swoop.

Chocolate-themed jewelry

Okay, what is going on with the link between chocolate companies and fashion? First we had Bobbie Brown partnering up with Vosges to create chocolate-colored makeup and a special Bobbie Brown chocolate bar. Now comes a partnership between Laio jewelry and Dove Chocolate. Laio has created a collection inspired by chocolate that is being presented to Emmy nominees. The necklaces feature "chocolatesque" stones like amber, tiger's eye, jade, and pearl. The pieces do have big brown sweeps of fabric that remind me of those chocolate-colored scrims that come drifting across in the Dove television commericals but other than that the connection seems a bit tenuous.
