Playboy Fragrances - Think They'll Smell Like Sex?

Filed under: Fragrance, Celebrities with Style

The Girls Next Door promoting the Playboy fragrances
The Playboy empire is spreading -- aside from the nudie magazines and clothing, it's reaching out into fragrances, too. The ladies from The Girls Next Door attended a party in the penthouse of Manhattan's Hotel on Rivington to celebrate the launch last week, and shared some details about their favorite scents.

Tim McGraw designs men's fragrance

Filed under: Fragrance, Celebrities with Style

Let's be clear: the very idea of celebrity "designed" fragrances is weird. Sure, we'll dress like our favorite actor, musician, or celebutant, but who wants to smell like Britney Spears? In any case, men who enjoy emitting an Eau de Michael Jordan, Antonio Banderas, or Derek Jeter now have a new, and equally as unappealing option: Tim McGraw.

Smell like Play-Doh, attract the ladies

Dirt CologneI'm normally not a big fan of perfumes or colognes. Generally, the only time I'll notice a person's fragrance is when it's way too strong. However, on the rare occasion that it's done right, a nice scent can be very alluring.

This brings me to the range of colognes by Demeter. These guys stray from the traditional flowers and vanilla scents to bring you some slightly more daring options -- like Play-Doh, Between the Sheets, and Dirt, for instance.

It might seem like a joke, but I'm totally serious. Dirt doesn't smell bad -- in fact, it's so familiar that many people will find it soothing. Plus, it's fun, yet masculine, and certainly different from what all the other guys are wearing.

Ewan McGregor as a fragrance model?

Filed under: Fragrance, Celebrities with Style

If I thought Clive Owen was an odd choice as a skin care line model for Lancome, I don't quite know what to say about Ewan McGregor as a fragrance model. Sure, he cleans up pretty when he needs to in movies like Moulin Rouge and Down With Love, but I've always thought that he was most himself on his 20,000 motorcycle trip with Charley Boorman. That dusty and bearded Ewan was definitely not the cologne type.

Nevertheless, Coty has announced that he will be the face of a new male fragrance from Davidoff which is set to launch in early 2008. He will appear in both print and television ads. I hope this helps him fund his next adventure.

Tom Brady's a Stetson man but will he wear the hat?

Filed under: Fragrance, Celebrities with Style

His personal life may be a bit chaotic (handling both the pregnant actress ex-girlfriend and the Victoria' Secret model currently on his arm) but there is no denying that Tom Brady is both a good quarterback and a handsome man. Although some sports fans may find him to be a bit of a pretty boy he's rugged enough for Stetson Cologne. They've signed him up to be the latest face of their ad campaign.

Gossip columnists Rush & Molloy recently reported that Brady refused at first to put on the iconic Stetson cowboy hat. Strange since he didn't seem to mind donning a cowboy hat for Bruce Weber in the pages of GQ.

Tommy Bahama heads to St. Barts for a new spring scent

Fragrances that evoke the scent of a particular locale seem to be hot lately. Michael Kors wants to take you to Hawaii, now Tommy Bahama wants to take you on an olfactory tour of St. Barts. Their new fragrances for both men and women are Set Sail St. Barts, two limited edition scents that will be on sale this spring. The men's scent is citrusy with notes of tequila, lime, guava and volcanic musk. The women's scent includes notes of tequila sorbet, lime, white musk and Guaiac wood from the hills of St. Bart's. The packaging looks a bit like something you might find in a seaside souvenir shop, the bottle top is covered in netting for a buoy-like effect and the boxes feature a mermaid design. The cologne spray for men and the eau de parfum for women sell for $52.50 each.

KISS releases fragrance for men and women

KISS fragranceSince we do love our makeup here at Styledash, we certainly can't go without mentioning the band that's as famous for their makeup as they are for their music. I'm talking about KISS, "every kid's dream and every parent's nightmare."

And those "kids" have grown up and apparently cause quite a grown-up scene at the Regency Square Mall in Jacksonville, FL. Apparently, an appearance by KISS front man Gene Simmons, on a world-wide tour to promote a new line of men's and women's KISS fragrances, had hundreds of fans lined up. Forget the mob-scene; scary, crazy metal rock band KISS has a line of fragrances? Yes.

And what exactly does KISS smell like? For the band, sure smells like money.
