T-Shirts for Nerds and the people that IM them

Ah, nerds. We They've come a long way since Revenge of the Nerds- the first one (not parts 2-14 where each consecutive sequel brought greater gains in the fight for nerd rights, but also a never-ending supply of stereotypes and frontal nudity). One need look no further than TV's own "Big Bang Theory" to see how nerds have been acclimated into society. Sociology, people.

NerdyShirts is an online shirt designer and retailer that was made by nerds for nerds, but that won't stop them selling stuff to the rest of you. After all, they are capitalists.

Customize your tech goods with today's hottest artists

Kawasaki GelaskinsWhen I got my Video iPod last year, the first thing I learned was that a protective cover of some sort is absolutely necessary because, apparently, the shiny iPod casing is very prone to scratches. So, I immediately got a nice fabric cover with a helpful piece of plastic over the screen. Unfortunately, that fabric cover is starting to become a little grungy, probably due to the fact that I often listen to my iPod when I'm painting or doing something equally messy. Anyway, this prompted me to look for some cooler alternatives to the usual fabric cover and that's when I came across GelaSkins!

Now even your laptop can be stylish

Filed under: Events: On the Scene, Accessories

You keep up with trends, buy nice-looking clothes, and have a great sense for interior decorating -- but, no matter how stylish the rest of your life is, your computer still looks like a plastic piece of sci-fi, techno gadgetry. Sound familiar?

Admittedly, some of us like the fact that our computer looks like a gadget -- because that's what it is -- but others want something with more glitz and glam. Enter the Hello Kitty laptop.

The new pink, glittery computer went on sale in Japan on Wednesday, in an attempt by NEC Corp to target working women. Currently -- at least in Japan -- "PC users tend to be men," but the company believes that this product might turn the tide.

Women = pink + glitter + Hello Kitty? Seems a tad stereotypical to me, but, according to its manufacturer, sales are already off to a good start.

Currently the product is only available in Japan, although, you can bet if it sells well that we'll be seeing an American version in the near future.

Seven Days of Style: Toy Gifts for Your Boy

toy gifts for your boyDon't do it. Don't put you and your boy through the same torture again this year. Yes, the torture of the Christmas sweater. Hey, you may have better taste than kelly green one with reindeer applique, but still, how many charcoal/merino wool/v-neck/crewneck/cardigan sweaters does he really need?

Right.

So in order to save you both that pain, we've put together a quick list of gifts that you can tolerate and are still toys that the boys will truly love. And by "boys," I mean any male between the ages of 1 and 101.

Sunday - You would love to get him an Enzo, you really would, but unfortunately, you've spent that cool million on some hot shoes. Go with the next best thing to a Ferrari, the Acer Ferrari laptop.

Monday - Babydoll, you've got connections. You know people. Use your juice to score a Playstation 3 for your boy. In my opinion, the PS3's casing is the closest thing you're going to get to your little black dress.

Tuesday - If he's a mature gentleman who enjoys a glass of good whiskey, the Pioneer Pure Malt Speakers are a great gift, without making you an enabler. The speakers are made from recycled 50-year-old white oak whiskey barrels.
