Jennifer Love Hewitt's going as Angelina Jolie for Halloween

Not that this is a terribly original idea, but we love when celebs spoof other celebs. Jennifer Love Hewitt remarked to a reporter that she and her fiance, Ross McCall, are considering going dressed as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt for Halloween this year.

Skanky Halloween costumes for teens - Yea or Nay?

Filed under: Holiday Style, Style in the News, Kids and Babies

When you take your daughter to the costume shop, you might find yourself asking: why does it look like pedophiles designed all of this fairy and princess outfits? Sure, it's a long-standing tradition for college-age women to use Halloween -- or Slutoween, as some are calling it -- as an excuse to channel their inner skankiness. Apparently, the trend "sex sells" mentality has filtered down to the younger age groups and some parents aren't too cool with it.

Christina Ricci"I'm a homicidal maniac. They look just like everyone else."

So chimed the adorably monotone little Christina Ricci as Wednesday Addams in the 1991 hit The Addams Family. Look how cute she is! She's still this height.

Wednesday is wise, and money is tight. Read on for more ways to get out of buying a costume.

Happy Howl-o-ween - Costumes for your canine companion

Filed under: Holiday Style, Must Haves

There are people out there who might think dressing your pet in a costume is sick and twisted. Those people probably also think it's ridiculous to wear a crazy wig to dinner with your friends, or include a feather boa for a night out. And you know what those people are? Boring. We like to dress up, and so do our dogs.

The options for dressing your fashionable and furry friend are nearly endless, but we've got a few favorites. Some are classic, some are a little more current, but they're all grrr-eat in our book. And yes, we might have gotten into some of the candy for the trick-or-treaters and we're on a goofy sugar high. What of it?

Couples costumes - Have fun, get festive

Seeing as how we write about fashion all day long, it should come as no surprise to you that we totally dig Halloween. We get to dress up in crazy clothes and wear four times as much makeup as we normally would, and nobody looks twice. Unless we do it right, in which case, we have heads turning all night.

If you're hitting the town with your sweetie on Halloween, maybe you want to find complementary costumes. Of course, this can end up being terribly cheesy, but we also think it can be an awful lot of fun. Check out our gallery for a few suggestions, and leave your suggestions in the comments!

Sarah Palin, Amy Winehouse and Elliot Spitzer lead the pack of top ten costumes at Ricky's

Okay, so the Halloween mega-store, Ricky's NYC, isn't exactly saying that the costumes are based on these celebrities, but it doesn't take a scientist to figure it out. For example, with her stars and stripes bikini, rimless glasses, and brunette bun -- it's clear that the "Miss Alaska" costume is meant to be vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin. Ditto for the jet black beehive and ultra short dress of "Rehab Queen" costume, which is obviously singer, Amy Winehouse.

Flatter Your Figure - Halloween Costumes to Show Your Shape

Filed under: Holiday Style, Flatter Your Figure

Plenty of women use Halloween as an excuse to dress a lot sexier than they normally would dare. Why go as a cat when you can go as a Sexy Kitten? Why dress as a mummy when you can go as the Lusty Undead?

Celebrities in costume scare us - Tip of the day!

Filed under: Celebrity Fashion Mistakes, Style Tip of the Day

So Halloween is near. Some dress up in a normal costume like a normal person. Others use it as an excuse to get naked. And still others get downright scary – and not in good, ghoulish way! And then there are those who curiously dress like its Halloween anytime of the year.

Dancing With The Stars Australia - StyleFoul!

Granted, the Australian Dancing With The Stars pair of actress Charli Delaney and her professional dance partner Csaba Szirmai are wearing ballroom dancing costumes. Lurid colors, fringe and spray tan residue are de rigeur, and part of why we watch.

On the other hand, Csaba's pose is incredibly creepy. While we applaud his desire to claw off Charlie's neon sequined tie (which is almost so wrong that even the Samba can't excuse it) his facial expression screams, "I'm going to chew through your beaded top and feast on your lady lumps!"

Cannibalism is never in style, not even on the dance floor. Not even in Australia.

Madonna's Sticky and Sweet tour - crotch shots, bad costumes and Hitler

Madonna's descent from fashion icon to pop-music has-been continues. Recent photos from the star's Sticky and Sweet tour are more or less what you'd expect -- overtly sexual, with pseudo-S&M costumes and plenty of ladies spreading their legs for the camera.

What will Kim Kardashian wear on Dancing With The Stars?

Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrities with Style

Rumor has it that curvalicious Kim Kardashian is the next "celebrity" to grace Dancing With The Stars. And if that's true, it completely allays our fears that this wonderful show was about to jump the shark.

First: with whom will they partner this spitfire? Our money is on the equally firey Max Chmerkovskiy, former partner of Mel B., (they were robbed!) and Leila Ali, both ladies with strong personalities.

But the ahem bigger question is what will the rigorous dancing regime to do to Kim's famed posterior? At least we'll get to the bottom of those real or fake rumors.

10th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards

Do you ever watch a TV show or see a movie and think to yourself, "Oh my gosh, I loved those outfits?" Well, last night the 10th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards were held to honor the people behind the clothes.

Costume designers receive very little credit for what they do, but the truth of the matter is that they can make or break a movie. I mean, can you imagine Johnny Depp's character in Pirate's of the Caribbean without his amazing pirate get up? Sure, Johnny is an amazing actor and as hot as the sun, so the character would've been good even without the wardrobe. But the clothes and the makeup made Captain Jack Sparrow absolutely magical.

I was so happy to see that Ugly Betty costume designer Eduardo Castro was up for outstanding contemporary television series. He does a great job making Betty look out of style, but still cute. Her clothes are so hideous but still let her potential beauty shine through. Every time I watch the show and see her in a new sweater-vest I just have to laugh. You can't help but love her! And the wardrobe is a huge part of that.

Period movies are another great example of just how important costume design is. If the clothes make you want to go back and live in that era, you know the designers have done a great job. From 2006, watching the movie Marie Antoinette with Kirsten Dunst did that for me. The clothes, oh the clothes! The costumes, designed by Milena Canonera, were so downright gorgeous that I caught myself thinking it would've been worth it to live during that time period, even if I did get beheaded.

From 2007, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, was one of the stars of the year when it came to the period piece costumes. Alexandra Byrne did an outstanding job with the design. But alas, Elizabeth was beaten out by Sweeney Todd at the award show last night. Other winners included Blades of Glory for best costume design in a contemporary film, and The Golden Compass, in the fantasy film category.

Celeb attendance was pretty sparse, but they did manage to get at least one big name to show up -- Katie Holmes. Some gossip blogs are suggesting that the Scientology queen might be pregnant again but it looks to me like they're wrong. I think I can actually see her hip bones sticking out of that dress!

Actresses Kristen Chenoweth, Ginnifer Goodwin and the beautiful Geena Davis were also in attendance. Click through the gallery to see pictures.

Stylish Costume of the Day: Marie Antoinette

Filed under: Holiday Style, Clothing, Vintage and Retro, Swimwear and Lingerie, Dresses

We all know that movies tend to be sources for Halloween costumes, and after Marie Antoinette, it's no surprise that this year, many a girl is going to parade around the party as the lovely French lady. Though I am normally a big fan of DIY costumes, Marie Antoinette is one that is much, much easier out of the box. Grab a curly platinum updo wig, pour your buxom self into a corset, and hike up that hoop skirt to show off thigh-high tights. If you're daring enough, there are even slightly more trashy risque versions of Marie Antoinette that let you bare your midriff.
