Faith Hill's New Fragrance is Southern Charm in a Bottle

Faith Hill is the newest perfumer on the block! Hoping to follow the success of her husband Tim McGraw's fragrance, Hill and Coty, Inc. announced the debut of Faith Hill Parfums at an intimate event in a chic NYC townhouse.

Hill -- looking fresh as a flower in head-to-toe pink and rosy lipstick -- excitedly explained how she was involved in the creation of the fragrance from start to finish, adding that she hopes women will feel beautiful when they wear it.

"To me a beautiful woman is confident, smart, and has a sense of humor. Beauty comes from the inside but what you wear on the outside can help you feel more confident and sexy."

Kate Moss to Launch Vintage Fragrance

Kate Moss has made a fortune re-imagining her own vintage-chic style for the Kate Moss Topshop collection, so it's no surprise that she'd take the same no-fail approach for her line of fragrances for Coty. The name of her latest, and third scent, says it all: "Vintage."

"I am fascinated by vintage pieces because they not only have a remarkable beauty but also an innate sense of history," says Moss. "I love the fact that each object has its own story to tell. And yet vintage items can be reinvented with a modern twist to make them very fresh and relevant today. That's why vintage looks have inspired my personal style, my work as a fashion designer and, now, my fragrance."

Eva Mendes CK fragrance ads too hot for TV

Filed under: Style in the News, Fragrance, Celebrities with Style

It was just a couple weeks ago that recently-rehabbed actress Eva Mendes appeared in Vogue Germany -- for the most part without her clothes. And now, word 'round the Internet is that the star's latest ad campaign is similarly scandalous.

The TV spots are for a new Calvin Klein fragrance called Secret Obsession, and apparently clearly show Eva "having illicit thoughts." So illicit, in fact, that they're making network TV sensors very uncomfortable -- which means the ads will likely never see the light of day.

Smell like Halle Berry

Filed under: Cosmetics, Fragrance, Celebrities with Style

halle berryI woke up this morning and thought to myself "You know what the world needs? Another celebrity fragrance" because really there aren't nearly enough of them. Right.

Add Halle Berry to the celebrity fragrance roster as she has joined the Coty family. Halle will be creating at least one (yes, there could be many) fragrance. This gem of a fragrance will be sold at, it pains me to type this, J.C. Penney and probably some other horrible places like Rite Aid and CVS.

Halle won't be alone in her perfume venture. Other members of the Coty family include: Jennifer Lopez, David and Victoria Beckham, Kimora Lee Simmons, Sarah Jessica Parker, Celine Dion, Kate Moss, and Gwen Stefani.

Halle is definitely grouped in there with some hits and misses. What do you think, Halle the fragrance a success or another fragrance flop?

Ewan McGregor as a fragrance model?

Filed under: Fragrance, Celebrities with Style

If I thought Clive Owen was an odd choice as a skin care line model for Lancome, I don't quite know what to say about Ewan McGregor as a fragrance model. Sure, he cleans up pretty when he needs to in movies like Moulin Rouge and Down With Love, but I've always thought that he was most himself on his 20,000 motorcycle trip with Charley Boorman. That dusty and bearded Ewan was definitely not the cologne type.

Nevertheless, Coty has announced that he will be the face of a new male fragrance from Davidoff which is set to launch in early 2008. He will appear in both print and television ads. I hope this helps him fund his next adventure.

Kim Basinger, skincare model

Filed under: Skin Care, Celebrities with Style

Kim Basinger's personal life has been in the news more than her professional life lately, but the actress did recently sign a deal to be the face of a skincare line. Coty Prestige has chosen Basinger as the face of Lancaster's new skincare collection for Fall 2007. Basinger, who started off as a model, has never been the face of a skincare line before. The Lancaster philosophy is "Add life to age and not age to life" and they chose Basinger for her attitude toward aging as well as her good looks. The first print ad campaign for the skincare will appear in October 2007 and the ads will appear around the world but not in the United States.

Smells like la Lohan

Filed under: Style in the News, Cosmetics, Fragrance, Celebrities with Style

I suppose that it was only a matter of time before Lindsay Lohan got in on the celebrity fragrance action. At a launch for shoe designer Brian Atwood, Lindsay revealed that she is currently in talks with Coty Cosmetics about her own perfume line.

Lohan insisted that she had not yet decided upon a name for the scent, as the deal with Coty had yet to actually be signed and sealed. So until we hear officially, is there any speculation out there on what Lindsay's perfume might be called?
