Bulgari's New Serpenti Jewelry Collection

If you missed the celebrity-studded castle party that Bulgari threw in Rome last month to mark the brand's 125th anniversary, you can still get in on the action.

The iconic jewelry company -- favored by legendary actresses such as Ingrid Bergman and Elizabeth Taylor, among others -- presented its new Serpenti collection Thursday at its Fifth Avenue flagship in New York City.

The new sparkling assortment of accessories includes watches, bracelets and rings that slither (rather sensuously) around wrists and fingers in links of gold, pavé diamonds, onyx and mother of pearl.

The entry price for one of these precious creatures is a cool $4,000 (for a ring) and goes up to $85K for a pavé diamond and platinum watch.

The snake motif has adorned the limbs of beautiful women since the ancient Greeks (hello, Cleopatra!) and is traditionally believed to offer talisman-like powers to its wearer. Bulgari's initial foray into retail reptilia began in the 1940s when it designed snake's-head watches.

Bulgari's new Serpenti collection debuts in October, but by then will we all be ready for a shedding of skin?

Gisele Bündchen Scores Her Very Own Super Bowl Ring

Filed under: Accessories, Style in the News

Gisele sparkles (and the ring's not too shabby either!) Photo by Getty Images

Tom Brady may have outdone himself, literally. The cute quarterback has clearly been supermodel Gisele's accessory of choice, but from the looks of it, things may have changed.

After major buzz about a ringless Gisele (since the couple's secret wedding on February 26th in Santa Monica, Calif.), the Brazilian beauty showed up at last night's Rainforest Alliance gala in New York City sporting some serious bling -- her wedding ring and band. They are blinding and Tom was nowhere in sight!

According to the Diamond Information Center, the rock appears to be a 4 carat round, brilliant diamond on a 4-prong setting set in platinum; estimated value is $100,000. What better to go with her pavé diamond wedding band?

We'd pay to see Gisele's touchdown dance.

Despite Recession, Diamonds Hot For Beauty

Filed under: Cosmetics, Skin Care, Red Carpet Trends

Who wants to wait for an engagement ring, just to get their hands on a little bling? With the sparklers in every other new beauty product, you don't have to. That's right, diamonds are officially the new "it" beauty ingredient -- despite the fact that last Friday the unemployment rate hit 8.5%, the highest it's been since 1983, according to the New York Times.

For such tough economic times, we're shocked at the surge in luxurious beauty products and services related to diamonds. We've seen anti-aging serum (the La Prairie item we wrote about earlier this week), body wash (Nivea and La Mer), lip gloss (Sally Hansen), you name it.

And now -- for the low, low price of $2000 -- Scott-Vincent Borba offers a Diamond Dermabrasion Facial to Hollywood's elite. How could a one-hour spa treatment cost that much, you ask? It's all about the precious gems.

Cindy McCain's RNC Outfit worth over $300k!

Filed under: Accessories, Style in the News, Clothing, Celebrities with Style

Whoa, Cindy. Way to bring your common touch to the Republican National Convention! According to the experts at Vanity Fair, the total cost of crisp-featured Cindy McCain's mustard yellow ensemble from Tuesday night tipped the scales to the tune of $313,000-ish.

In contrast, poor Laura Bush was practically wearing gardening clothes, with an outfit that was in the $3,500-$4,300 range.

Actually, they were both in Oscar de la Renta. The big difference -- and we do mean big -- was Cindy's choice of jewelry, including a pair of 3 carat diamond earrings, estimated to cost about $280,000.

Vanity Fair does point out that they only cost that much if they're real. Right! Because there's a sliver of a chance that Cindy McCain showed up on TV wearing "a really good fake" anything besides her boobs.

The magazine did not speculate on how much the total cost would increase if we included the pre-convention Botox touch up and hair highlighting.
