Christina Ricci has dazzled us with her accessories lately, particularly her Romanek Los Angeles Rockstar clutches. She was spotted with the crocodile clutch in black, silver, and seafoam green at three different events around the world. While we definitely worship her looks in LA and NYC, we are absolutely foaming at the mouth for the black clutch and Chopard jewels she wore at a Chopard event in Cannes.

Cindy McCain's RNC Outfit worth over $300k!

Filed under: Accessories, Style in the News, Clothing, Celebrities with Style

Whoa, Cindy. Way to bring your common touch to the Republican National Convention! According to the experts at Vanity Fair, the total cost of crisp-featured Cindy McCain's mustard yellow ensemble from Tuesday night tipped the scales to the tune of $313,000-ish.

In contrast, poor Laura Bush was practically wearing gardening clothes, with an outfit that was in the $3,500-$4,300 range.

Actually, they were both in Oscar de la Renta. The big difference -- and we do mean big -- was Cindy's choice of jewelry, including a pair of 3 carat diamond earrings, estimated to cost about $280,000.

Vanity Fair does point out that they only cost that much if they're real. Right! Because there's a sliver of a chance that Cindy McCain showed up on TV wearing "a really good fake" anything besides her boobs.

The magazine did not speculate on how much the total cost would increase if we included the pre-convention Botox touch up and hair highlighting.

Do you need $10,000 electronic devices?

In case the bejeweled Dior sunglasses weren't enough, there are a few electronic devices that have been given the same bling treatment, for your choosing.

The Dalumi Group recently teamed up with LG and Rich to add a bit of sparkle to their USB drives and Capilo R5 digital cameras, respectively. The camera features 200 diamonds mounted on white gold on circular lens and costs $25,000. The equally fabulous USB drive is framed in diamonds and will set you back a cool $10,000. Chump change, right?

Both pieces are going to be auctioned off after a one-year tour around the world for charity. The proceeds will go to the SOS Children's Village in Botswana. In the meantime, those who are wanting to look flashy on a much more affordable scale should look no further than the Phillip & Swarovski USB drive. They cost $200.

Any excuse for a new ring

Filed under: Accessories, Style in the News, Celebrities with Style

Lately we've been hearing about "commitment" or "promise" rings for people who want an indication of how serious their relationship is, but don't want to go all diamonds and white taffeta.

This post at Refinery29 is a good example of how people are looking for more creative styles. We've always loved those Zoe Chicco stackable rings, and this pink tourmaline ring by Rajiv Arora would make us say yes in a heartbeat.

Angelina's nutty Gara Danielle snake ring jumps to mind. Even if she doesn't wear it as a commitment ring, she should. Although, knowing Pitt and Jolie, they'll more likely to get rings tattoo'd on like Beyonce and Jay-Z.

Diamond thong is worth $122,000

diamond thongIf you happen to be exempt from the effects of our economy and have a cool $122,000 to spare, you might want to "invest" that cash in diamonds, and by diamonds, we mean a diamond-detailed thong.

At a lingerie fashion show in Singapore for Triumph International, two shirtless male models carried model Danielle Luminita down the runway on their shoulders. Danielle was showcasing a black lace thong with 518 brilliant-cut diamonds in a floral pattern. The total weight of the diamonds was 30 carats.

Of course, the 27 tassels made of white gold that were attached to the thong probably added to its value.

Liz Hurley's rock

Filed under: Accessories, Celebrities with Style

Over the weekend, actress Liz Hurley married Arun Nayer at Sudeley Castle. Leading up the wedding, there was much speculation about what or rather who Hurley would wear during the ceremony. (Would it be Versace or would she wear a sari?)

With all of the dress hubbub swirling through the media, somehow we missed out on the details of Hurley's spectacular Chopard engagement ring. The Assher-cut 15.09 carat diamond was set in white gold and surrounded by a pave-set band. The bling is part of Chopard's "Haute Joallerie" collection.

Objectively, it's a gorgeous ring. Subjectively, however, I'm less impressed. Not to be a downer, but I have to wonder how many people were killed, enslaved or otherwise deprived of basic human rights just so that Liz Hurley could have that ring.

Tiffany Novo, the newest bling

Just in time for all those thinking of proposing on Valentine's Day, Tiffany is unveiling a new engagement ring with a new diamond cut. The ring is already available in Japan and will be for sale in the US in February.

The Tiffany Novo is a solitaire set in four prongs. The center stone is a slightly squared cushion cut with a unique faceting to give it an updated look. The platinum shank is also laden with small pavé diamonds. As one of the posters on the Purse Forum board mentioned the diamond cut looks to be the same cut as the Square H & A. It's a nice compromise between a round brilliant and the princess cut which has sharper edges and can lack the fire of a round.
