We are completely convinced, anything Diane von Furstenberg touches turns to gold, including Debra Messing. The twosome is a combination that is literally, blowing our minds right now. We aren't sure if we're more excited about this maxi dress that needs to be in our closet right now, adorable Debra, or the magnificent Diane who we sort of might be a little bit in love with. Okay a lot in love with. We are a lot in love with DVF. There, we said it!

Are you Influenced by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen?

Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrities with Style, Product Reviews, Books, Daily Obsession, Must Haves

After months of anticipation, we finally received our very own copy of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's not-just-for-your-coffee-table book. And, as expected, we love it. Influence is a hardcover masterpiece – featuring interviews with the world's most famous designers, artists, photographers, and taste-makers including: designer Diane von Furstenberg, shoe maven Christian Louboutin, and cheeky photographer Terry Richardson.

As Ashley explained: "We want this book to be something that is filled with interesting things about the art world and fashion. I'd like to think that this book is inspiring people to read about or focus on other things than just the over-saturated, scandal-driving media."

Lauren Conrad in Diane von Furstenberg - I want that!

Lauren Conrad was doing her chic, simple thing at the Avon Foundation's The Hope Honors in NYC last week. We thought the television diva's Diane Von Furstenberg sheath hugged in all the right places. The sparkle added just the right dose of glamor to keep the look young.

Harem pants, say what? - Tip of the day

Filed under: Style Tip of the Day

Yes, like our favorite little Disney princess Jasmine or even MC Hammer, we too are now subjected to the fashion horror know as harem pants. Okay, okay, they aren't all that bad, if you can know how to wear them. Here are a few tips to make sure you look good in that pirate's booty.

Get the look: DVF - We died.

Filed under: Fashion Week, Get the Look

In true Diane von Fursteberg fashion, the show was a mix of everything a fashionable, jet set gal needs – flared denim, flirty dresses, floaty tunics, and sweet accessories. And of course, DVF's signature prints were present in all of the looks; this year taking on the forms of butterflies, stars, tribal and art deco. Though the designer says that the DVF girl is a "rock goddess" this year, Style.com might've said it better when they said she is a "breezy, flower child."

The mostly dress collection was completely phenomenal but the most notable feature on the runway was the models headpieces. Feathers, fringe, and beading adorned long loose hair while Twiggy-esque makeup added to the easy 60's feel of the collection.

To keep the looks modern, the Diane added in some trends du jour – plenty of sparkle, shimmer, transparency, and belts.

We're totally feeling everything about this collection and apparently so are celebs like Eva Longoria and Leighton Meester! The DVF show was one of the most star studded of the week.

The ladies of Gossip Girl undoubtedly have plenty of access to fabulous clothing and all the latest trends, but we love the way Leighton Meester mixes the hot and the new with classically flattering, proven looks. And, she finds a great balance between looking young and fresh while still coming across as ladylike, a concept much of young Hollywood has yet to grasp.

This elegant look isn't out of reach -- you can easily put something like this together for yourself, with similarly striking results. Find out how in the gallery!

Star studded front row at Diane von Furstenberg

We knew Diane von Furstenberg was popular with celebs, but we had no idea that she'd even manage to bring the infamous J-Lo out of hiding. And, Jennifer Lopez was just one amongst many starlets to grace the designer's show with her presence.

I want that! America Ferrera's Fred Leighton fan danglers

America Ferrera was dressed to win at the 2008 ALMA Awards. And win she did! America walked away with the Entertainer of the Year award not to mention a landslide of A+ reviews for her adorable strapless Diane von Furstenberg dress, adorable Christian Louboutin peep toes and the yummy red lip. But what we loved most were those stunning fan Fred Leighton earrings. To die.

And may we add, America is such an excellent role model. She has a killer fashion sense, knows what to wear and how to wear it, but still looks like she can have her cake and eat it too, literally. Kudos America. We need more lush ladies like you around!

Dress of the day: Slater by Diane von Furstenberg

Filed under: Clothing, Dresses, Daily Obsession, Must Haves

Say what you will, Diane von Furstenberg knows dresses. We love this black wool jersey dress because of the asymmetrical piping at the waist, which draws the eye to the sexy curve at the waistline and away from the hips (which are probably fine, btw - just ask your best friend, but we understand - we don't like to accentuate ours either.)

CFDA announces 28 new members

Filed under: Style in the News

The Council of Fashion Designers of America re-elected Diane von Furstenberg (at right) for another term as fearless leader, err, uh, President. The non-profit organization also announced 28 new members including Michael Bastian, Andrew Buckler, Scott Sternberg, Brian Reyes, Araks Yeramyan and Eunice Lee.

Check out the full list of talents to join the establishment. The CFDA's history dates back to 1962, founding members included Rudi Gernreich and Bill Blass.

The group's mission includes a lot more than just handing out awards. There's also business support, talent development, humanitarian causes, exclusive parties and a super-secret handshake.

Tangibly, CDFA membership could translate into a new level of acceptance by stores or the public for any designer. But more importantly, it means a designer has earned respect from his or her peers. That's gotta feel nice.

Coco Rocha speaks out against using anorexic models

Filed under: Style in the News

Several models have spoken out against the deadly industry standard of using girls for runway shows that are dangerously thin -- among them are ladies like Ali Michael and Natalia Vodianova. But, after they spoke out, critics accused them of saying something only because their careers were on the brink of extinction. This is not so in Coco Rocha's case.
