REVIVAL: "Let us once again embrace the art of dressing!"

Filed under: Stores We Love, Clothing, Vintage and Retro, Dresses

Zip Transformer Shift with Moody Silk InsetsWe love REVIVAL. Designer Virginia Craddock's attitude about fashion is infectious in the way that laughter is.

From the REVIVAL website:
"Some time between the jeans revolution of the 60's and the day glow craze of the 90's, we lost our lust for true style. This modern era has erased the excitement of elbow length gloves. Forgotten is the arrogance of a pencil skirt, and the vanity of a layered, frothy party dress. REVIVAL reclaims the thrill of fashion and the transforming effect of style."

Dress of the day - Old Navy crossover color block dress

Filed under: Clothing, Dresses, Steals and Deals, Daily Obsession, Must Haves

Ease into fall in style with this great dress from Old Navy - the crossover neckline and 3/4 sleeves are just perfect for September weather and the above the knee length will let you show off your summer skin while you still can. We love the pairing of sky blue with the grey and black detailing at the waist and hemline - but there's also a cute black and purple version if you're not into the blue. At this price, you might as well buy both!

Tip of the day: Quiksilver Remix

Filed under: Style Tip of the Day

When we think Quiksilver we think summer's in 7th grade spent in nothing but boardshorts and bathing suit tops. Thanks to Summer Rapp, our take on the iconic brand is about to change.

Summer, who worked with similar brands Volcom and Ever, is giving the Quiksilver line a decidedly posh makeover. Well, as posh as skater chicks gets. There are adorable tunic covered with studs, surprisingly chic puffed sleeve sweaters, and little cotton dresses that will look as great with heels as they do with flats.

The best part is that the prices all stay well below $150. Amen sister.

Tip of the day: THE Summer Dress Store!

Filed under: Clothing, Dresses, Style Tip of the Day

Though summer is winding down, it doesn't mean you still don't have time to whip out the old CC and purchase more dresses! Especially if they as chic and affordable as those at The Summer Dress Store.

Their motto puts it more perfectly than we ever could, "At The Summer Dress Store we strive to provide our customers with fantastic dresses at reasonable prices." Words never sounded so sweet!

Our favorite is the incredibly cute Heroine Long Summer Dress. It is the perfect maxi dress – timeless enough to wear next summer and then the one after that. But also a knockout in bright red with a bohemian paisley print. The best part about it? It's $45 price tag!

Five dresses - Striped stars

Filed under: Clothing, Dresses, Must Haves

This week we brought you five fabulous variations of the striped dress - and not one of them will make you look like Marcel Marceu, proving that stripes are no longer the exclusive province of mimes and Galouises smokers.

Instead we showed that stripes can look traditionally nautical or futuristic chic, it all depends on the accessories. In case you haven't noticed, that is a continuing theme here - that you should never deny yourself the pleasure of expressing yourself via fashion because you thought that some trend or look was "only" worn by a certain type. We aim to show you variations (five, to be precise) of any given theme and prove to you that they can work for anyone. It all depends on what you want to show the world, and of course, where you're going.
