Angelina Jolie Shows Her Dark Side... Again

Angelina - From Brown to Blond to Black, and Back

Angelina's nearly black wig for Evelyn A. Salt is quite chic and sleek. Wonder if she'll borrow this look in real life?

Proof that Angie can go both ways -- at least when it comes to hair color. Here, also for Evelyn A. Salt, she's a blonde bombshell.

We told you last month that Angelina Jolie was flipping her wig in her new flick, "Evelyn A. Salt," but we just can't get enough of the hair color changes. New photos show the beauty going from brash and blonde to sexy and subdued in an almost black wig.

Angelina could shave her head and still be stunning! But even if she can get away with any hue, we definitely have our preferences. Let us know which of Jolie's many shades you prefer by voting in the poll.

Jessica Alba Lightens Up

Filed under: Celebrities with Style, Hair Cut and Style

When the days start getting longer and tulips begin to bloom, we never fail to find ourselves in our stylist's chair begging for a brighter, blonder 'do. And we're not the only ones -- Jessica Alba was spotted out and about yesterday with seriously lighter locks.

We're happy to hear that the highlighted tresses are for her latest film, "The Killer Inside Me," because we think this babe is better as a brunette. But then again, Ms. Alba could spike her hair and dye it purple and look better than us at our very best.

What do you think?

Is Jessica Alba better as a blond or brunette?

The curtains gotta match the carpet

"I found a gray hair...in my hair...down there." -Samantha Jones, Sex and the City

It has plagued women for centuries. You start to go gray on top? No big deal. If it bothers you, you dye it. But you start to go gray down below? Where do you turn? What do you do? Who can you possibly risk telling?

Also, many blondes do a little cheating up top, but what, are you going to take your hairstylist aside and ask him if he does any under-the-table treatments? Marilyn Monroe knew your pain. The curtains gotta match the carpet.

Tip of the Day: Red Hair is IN

Filed under: Style Tip of the Day

What's with all the red heads anymore? We all know that only a low 1 – 3% of the population is natural so what's got everyone reaching for the dye box?

Just taking a stab at it, we're guessing women are:

• Tired of blonde and brunette stereotypes
• In need of change
• Looking to turn heads
• Loving the fiery and fierce redhead stereotype

Fierce? Fiery? Maybe we should jump on the red bandwagon!

Check out these redhead celebs in all their sizzling hot glory.

Forget mascara - Stain your lashes!

Good news for light-lashed ladies -- Tarte has come out with a 4 Day Stay Lash Stain, so you can dye your lashes at home and reap the benefits of naturally dark-looking eye fringe for more than half a week!

While this might not be a huge deal to those of us with fairly dark eyelashes to begin with -- if you're only concerned with curl and volume, this probably isn't a product for you. However, we know how frustrating it is for women who have the really light, nearly transparent lashes to have long, dark lashes one moment, and then look completely different after jumping in the pool, or if you catch them first thing in the morning before applying mascara.

Of course, you could always have your lashes professionally dyed, but this seems like a much easier option, and it's just $18 at Sephora. What do you think?

Eyebrow expert Kristie Streicher's grooming dos and don'ts

Filed under: Style Tip of the Day, Get the Look, Beauty Tips

I've always plucked my own eyebrows, but a few months back, I realized they were looking a little sparse. (Okay, I had accidentally tweezed them into oblivion.) So when I was given a gift certificate to the Warren|Tricomi salon in my Los Angeles neighberhood, I decided to make an appointment for an eyebrow shaping and tinting with Kristie Streicher and see if she could help.

Kristie--who herself looks like she belongs walking the red carpet--has worked with celebrities from Julia Roberts to Molly Sims in her ten years as an eyebrow specialist. Still, I was surprised by just how polished I looked after she tinted, tweezed and trimmed my brows. Now, I'm happy to say my eyebrows are no longer in critical condition. In fact, they're pretty much perfect.

We gave you the step-by-step on the perfect pluck a while back, and now Kristie has been kind enough to exclusively share her list of expert eyebrow-grooming dos and don'ts with the Stylelist crowd.

Dark roots: Yay or nay?

Filed under: Hair Care, Celebrities with Style

Ever since Madonna rocked the platinum permed hair with super dark roots in the eighties, it seems like every other year (or every other week) some blond actress or singer has shown up at a red carpet event with a dark part, and some fashion magazine has come out and declared that dark roots are in. We say they're trying to hornswoggle us.

Dark roots look okay under the following qualifications:
a) you have enough volume in your hair that there's not a defined line, or
b) you're dressing up as Madonna for an Eighties-themed party.

Should anybody still be sporting dark roots?

Would you dye your eyelashes?

We looove long, dark, sexy eyelashes. Love them, love them, love them. We have no qualms about layering on the mascara, or even using false lashes should the occasion call for it. In fact, if we had the funds, we would probably be devotees of eyelash extensions. However, when we read about dying our eyelashes, we were a little surprised.

Tip of the day: At home hair color 101

Filed under: Hair Care, Style Tip of the Day

Alright, alright so at home hair color isn't the best way to go we admit. However, with the dollar floundering around like a fish out of water, $200+ salon trips just ain't happenin. So we've had to resort to that $10 box with high hopes that one day, just maybe one day, we'll get that at home color right.
