If you're top heavy -- we mean truly top heavy, not just a little busty -- you probably already know how important it is to try to make your body look proportional, which can be hard with the heavy fabrics and boxy cuts of some fall fashions. The last thing in the world you want to do is add bulk to your upper half, right? You don't want to look like you're about to tip over!
After my head stopped spinning from the horror called IMASU by Kelly Nishimoto I needed two things ... a cocktail and a better runway show. I suppose I got both with Orthodox but I have a sneaking suspicion the cocktail helped me enjoy the second show more. 
L.A. Fashion Week kicked off at 4pm on Sunday with a show by Kelly Nishimoto. Who? Yeah, that's what I said. A no-name opening up Fashion Week was a bad sign but I tried to remain positive. My positive spirit started to diminish after waiting for 45 minutes for the show to start. Listen Kelly, you ain't no Marc Jacobs sweetie! Let's start the show on time.
I always like going into shows like Lacoste because, like Nautica, I really don't know what to expect. I mean of course I know Lacoste, who doesn't? They do have a sweet little alligator for a mascot! However when it comes to them on the runway I just don't know. 
Just when I thought Fashion Week couldn't get anymore spectacular out comes a show that was really worth standing in line for -- Rock and Republic. I knew I was in for something special when the line to get in wrapped around Bryant Park. It looked more like people lined up for rock concert than a fashion show and in the end; it was really a bit of both.
I had never heard of Venexiana before last night's show but I was hopeful when it kicked off with flashing blue lights and music so loud it made the floor shake. The first few looks from the collection were equally impressive with furs so lavish they would make Ivana Trump jealous. However, the rest of the collection was a disappointment to say the least.
