Debbie Phelps (you know, Michael's mom) and Chico's share the love

(Click the photo to see more of Debi Phelps' Olympic Looks)

Debbie Phelps--mother of swimming phenom Michael--got more airtime during these Olympic games than most of the athletes. But while her adorable reactions to her son's gold-medal wins made for good TV, she's not exactly someone most of us would consider a style icon. "Most of us," however, does not include Chico's, purveyor of pantsuits.

The Chico's higher-ups heard that Phelps, a school principal, had stocked up on some of their brightly-colored separates before jetting off to Beijing. (Including the "Travelers Rouge Geo Print Jacket" she's wearing in this picture.) So the company created a special section called The Debbie Phelps Collection on their site to feature her favorites.

As WWD reports, "Chico's does not have a formal agreement with her, but talks are under way with her management team about potential collaborations." Our advice to Debbie Phelps: if you already have your own management team, why not add a stylist to the payroll?

Dancing With The Stars announces sexiest cast ever for season seven

This is almost too good for words. We were excited when we heard that Kim Kardashian would be on the next season of Dancing With The Stars. And we were tickled to learn that the rumors about Lance Bass are true -- he's also going to be on the show. But in our wildest dreams, we couldn't have hoped for the kind of serial nudists and exhibitionists they announced for season seven.

Mr. Randall and his team of seamstresses will have to struggle to avoid a nip-slip or other wardrobe malfunction for this crazy line up of stars:

Lesbian lovers, t.A.T.u., are the new face of Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs likes to surprise people. You could say it's his thing -- just think of Victoria Beckham in a paper bag. Those ads were totally strange, incomprehensible to the average woman, yet more talked about than any other ad campaign that came out at the same time. So while some people might be surprised by Marc's choice to use the girls from t.A.T.u. as the next faces of his brand, the fact that Marc is trying to shock, is no shocker.

Style Lies: Gum takes 7 years to digest.

How many times did dear old mom say "Don't swallow that gum or it'll be in there for seven years!" Well kids, mama was wrong.

It is true that gum is indigestible, meaning that the body can not break it down. However, gum goes in one end and out the other just like anything else that we eat, maybe just a little bit more unscathed.

As a side note, chewing gum is actually a natural habit that dates back to prehistoric times when peeps used to chew crazy things like tree resin, bark, and gooey berries. So as much as it sucks getting it stuck to the bottom of your shoe or in your hair, gum isn't all bad.

Janet Jackson's underwear is coming!

Filed under: Style in the News, Swimwear and Lingerie, Celebrities with Style

As Kyle reported earlier, Miss Janet Jackson has a new fashion line coming out. News about her plans is coming out slowly, but we know the underwear line, logically, is coming first.

This week the press was abuzz with the latest, that she will create the lingerie line in partnership with Australian designer Bruno Schiavi (a.k.a. "the one who actually knows about wearing underwear.")

We'll be able to start buying Janet's bras and panties in November. Miss Jackson has declared that all of the items will fit well and be under $40, but no word on whether or not she'll star in any of the ads herself. She's been looking pretty good lately, so we can hope!

Olympic hotties

Filed under: Clothing, Celebrities with Style

There's no doubt that much of the advertising shown during the Olympic games targets women -- have you noticed all the commercials for osteoporosis meds, baby products, and women's razors? And there's reason -- research has shown that women tune in to the Olympics for many reasons. They enjoy the "occasion," and all the pomp and circumstance; they appreciate the dedication and commitment the athletes have to their sports; plus, it's great family programming.

However, we think many women have another reason for tuning it -- the male athletes.

Man gets eyeball tattoo

(Click the photo for Shocking and Tactless Tats)

Think tooth tats are over the top? Look again. A man in Toronto has gone for perhaps the most bizarre and disturbing forms of tattoo that we've ever heard of: the eyeball tat. Sometimes, when people sustain serious eye injuries, doctors inject their eyes with dyes to make them look more natural. Now, starting with this idiotic adventurous Canadian, the medical art of corneal tattooing is becoming a new type of elective body modification.

This guy's procedure, in which he basically had an artist turn the whites of his eyes primary blue, required forty ink injections at a Canadian body modification convention. Apparently, the artist tried the traditional tattoo needle, but when it didn't take, they had to go in with a syringe. Ouch. According to one observer "it's trippy - and definitely starts some interesting conversations."

While we're sure that's true, doctors warn that "infection, perforation, and hemorrhage are among the potential complications." Yeah, that and a lifelong case of buyer's remorse when you're sick of having blue eyes.Click here for images of the procedure.

You were actually able to stop staring at the picture above and start reading this post? You have my full respect. I on the other hand, could barely write after getting an eyeful of these male models in all their semi-naked glory. But perhaps that's exactly what FreshPair, the online underwear retailer, was going for when it planned this fashion show in honor of National Underwear Day.

Christian Siriano maternity - Fierce for Moody Mamas

Filed under: Style in the News, Clothing, Dresses

Who says maternity clothes have to be bland and uninteresting? Not Christian Siriano, that's for sure -- the designer is planning a range for pregnant women, called Fierce for Moody Mamas by Christian Siriano, due out Spring 2009.

Moody Mamas has some seriously stylish maternity wear already -- from tanks with a sparkly message (It's a girl!) to cozy cashmere wraps made for two, they have moms-to-be fashionably covered. It's no surprise, really -- Christian is friends with the Moody Mamas founders. Still, it looks like Christian's Fierce line will be a perfect addition.

Eye-lifts for men - A booming business

With all of the beauty products and cosmetics being marketed to men, it's really no surprise that more and more men are electing to go under the knife. However, one procedure in particular is catching on with lightening speed -- manbag (or eye-lift) surgery has more than quadrupled over the last two years in one chain of clinics, with similar increases seen across the board.
