Supermodel Shalom HarlowIf we lived in the 20's, our guess is that we'd totally be a party and fashion addicted flapper – playing nice with the boys but being one heck of sexy girl.

From Red Carpet to Your Closet: Charlize Theron at the Sleepwalking premiere

Filed under: Clothing, Dresses, Celebrities with Style

Charlize Theron can pull off just about any look. On just about anyone else, her 2006 couture Oscar look would have been comical, but somehow she managed to (mostly) look gorgeous.

The same thing goes for this dress from the Sleepwalking premiere -- it won't work for everyone, but if you've got a build and confidence like Charlize, you can really rock it. Read through the gallery to find out how to make this funky flapper look look your own.

Stylish Costume of the Day: Flapper

Filed under: Holiday Style, Accessories, Clothing, Dresses

black flapper costumeLet me explain why dressing up as a Flapper from the Roaring '20s is an awesome idea for this Halloween:
  1. The costume is sexy without being slutty.
  2. You could probably put this together without having to go to costume store because you might have everything already. (Who doesn't have a rainbow of feather boas in her closet?)
  3. The Modern Day Flapper is a hot look right now anyway so you can buy good pieces (not cheap costume-y pieces) and wear them again through the season.
You just need to slip into a slightly longer spaghetti-strap tank dress with a slim, straight silhouette, accessorize with long strands of pearls or other necklaces, put on a pair of matching T-strap shoes, and the only things you might have to buy or make are a headband with feather or jeweled adornments and a feather boa.

Of course, you can also buy the costume right out off the shelf, like the one shown.
