No, they're not supposed to be sexy . . . but you don't always have to be the sexiest you can be. I think if a woman tries to do that all the time, you start to not notice it anymore. Flat shoes are not sexy, but they're cool, and it's just as exciting to be cool as it is to be sexy.It's sage style advice that's not limited to shoes, and we just love him for it. It's wonderful when a designer doesn't have his head permanently in the fantastical clouds created by the world of fashion. He also admits that runway shows and the press (ahem) exaggerate the popularity of heels - it turns out that flats outsell heels 5-to-1. We're not surprised by this at all - a cursory glance at our closet proves it.
