Here's your first look at the Gap's new Artist Edition T-Shirt Collection in conjunction with Bono's (PRODUCT) RED campaign to fight AIDS in Africa.

Like GAP (RED)'s tees for Spring, the 30 cotton tops for Fall/Holiday were designed by an eclectic mix of 12 established and up-and-coming artists -- from poets to animators -- who were inspired by the cause.

Some of the fashion-centric talents involved include Deanne Cheuk (art director at Tokion), watercolor master Stina Persson, Parsons grad Celia Calle and James Jean (he designs the whimsical wallpaper for Prada stores).

Kanye West is proving himself quite the well-rounded fashion guy. There's his current stint at Gap and the rapper's recently released Louis Vuitton sneaker collaboration.

West gave the public a hint of what to expect when he wore the sneakers during Men's Fashion week Fall/Winter 2009 in Paris, and now the limited edition footwear is finally out!

Rumor has it that there's a serious wait list, and even though the footwear debuted late June, the collection of 10 styles may already be sold out!

Calling all yet-to-be-discovered models! V Magazine and Ford Models have teamed up in search of fashion's next fresh face with their annual "V A Model" contest.

Stephen Gan, editor of V, says, "We're looking for someone who has it all -- the face, body, and amazing personality! V is known for its amazing fashion spreads...and we are looking for a fresh new star."

This is the first time V and Ford have collaborated up for a female model search. Last year's male model search for VMAN was so successful, the two decided to unite to find an "It" girl for V.

Britney's Recession Shopping Spree

Filed under: Style in the News

Stars on a budget! Britney shops at the Gap in London. Photo: WENN.com

Even stars like Britney Spears are becoming price-conscious!

During a stop in London on her "Circus" tour, Daily Mail UK reports that the blonde (and toned) singer did some moderately priced damage at the Gap.

Clad in a coral cotton tank and brown velour pants, Spears looked relaxed as she emerged carrying two full bags from the retailer.

JustJared reports that the 27-year-old performer also dashed into Boots -- "The" drugstore in London -- for some zit cream. She popped into University Outfitters, a cheap and trendy UK retailer, as well.

Despite the heftier exchange rate (currently £1 pound is equal to $1.6 dollars), it looks like Britney is spending her dollars wisely by shopping at affordable stores.

But from the looks of the photo, we hope her purchases include a bra from GapBody!

Last Year's CFDA Winners Design Limited Edition Gap Collections

There's nothing the fashion world loves more than reinvention, and this month, the classic casual standard -- khaki -- is getting a high-end summer kick off.

Gap Design Edition -- now in its third year -- was created to introduce CFDA winners to a wider audience, to reinvent an American classic and to offer luxurious, limited edition designs at wallet-friendly prices.

This year, womenswear designers Alexander Wang (above), Vena Cava's Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai and accessories designer Albertus Swanepoel were presented with the honor and challenge of reinterpreting the khaki, and they delivered. We want every piece!

The collections will be available in US flagship stores and on gap.com starting June 16th. Prices range from $39.50 to $88, so we can have them all! A word of advice: Avoid khaki overkill by not wearing them simultaneously!

Stella McCartney Regresses for GapKids

Filed under: Style in the News

Stella McCartney has devoted celeb fans and friends in Kate Bosworth and Liv Tyler, but now she's going after a much younger and influential group.

The British designer is teaming up with GapKids and babyGap for a limited edition collection called Gap by Stella McCartney, expected to launch in-store and online in November.

As a mother of three, McCartney has first-hand experience with style for the younger set. She says: "For years now I've wanted to create a collection for kids ... I believe that this one off collaboration will be a great way for customers to be able to participate in the Stella McCartney Brand. I believe that kids clothing should be more accessibly priced, which is particularly important at the moment given the current climate." We couldn't agree more. Especially when the customer outgrows the clothing in a matter of weeks!

No word yet on whether McCartney, a famous vegetarian, will use her influence to make the collaboration green. Perhaps vegan booties will be big for winter.

StyleList Giveaway - Gap's NEW signature scent, Close

Filed under: Cosmetics, Fragrance, Contests & Giveaways, Interviews, Beauty Tips

The Gap has always been a symbol of American fashion. Today, they're debuting "Close," their first ever signature fragrance for women, which is the brainchild of design wunderkind (and fairly recent Gap EVP appointee) Patrick Robinson. And StyleList readers have first dibs - leave a comment below to enter for the chance to win one of 10 bottles of the iconic scent.

"It wasn't about making a scent that wears you, but a scent that you actually wear," says Robinson. Infused with notes of citrus and white flowers, the overall effect is beachy, with a saltiness that's added by your own skin to personalize the scent. "It changes for each person, says Robinson. "You add to the personality of the fragrance."

After the jump, StyleList got the chance to chat with Robinson about the inspiration behind "Close," the notes that breathe personality into the perfume and the process of creating a fragrance from start to finish.

But first, leave a comment below to be among the first to try Gap's fresh new scent.

Since when did Gilligan design for the Gap?

So we think Patrick Robinson is super talented. We've been waiting for ages to see his first full Gap collection. And he came through – for the ladies anyway. The womenswear is cute and classic. Just what we were expecting and definitely good enough to get the Gap out of its rut. As for the guys? Well... "just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip." A trip to the Gap. That turns out bad. Real bad.

Sweater vests for men - are you feelin' it?

Filed under: Clothing, Vintage and Retro, Men

With cooler weather coming just around the corner, we've noticed that all of the conditions are right for a sweaterific fall and winter for men's fashion. Cardigans, turtlenecks, and yes, even the nerdiest of all -- sweater vests -- seem to be turning up in all sorts of fall collections. While the sweater vest is an easy way to add some colorful layers to your wardrobe, we kinda have to wonder if men are really going to embrace the sweater vest this season -- or if that's just wishful thinking.

From what we've gathered, this year's sweater vest look is all about the pattern -- and the nerdier the better. Forget solids or pinstripes, its all about checks, argyles, or a bold houndstooth. Basically, anything reminiscent of an ugly retro sweater that your parents dressed you in as a toddler. We like the depth that a SV can bring to an outfit, but we don't expect to see many on the street. What do you think? Is the sweater vest going to be a hot item this fall?

Now opened: Gap x Colette pop-up store

Those who are still waxing lyrical on Gap's now ancient mellow yellow ads and hot pink trench coats a la Sarah Jessica Parker get ready to be ushered into the new millennium with the brand's new fashion initiative:

Running until October 5th, the Gap x Colette pop-up shop -- located at 680 Fifth Avenue and the corner of 54th Street -- is stocked with all of those signature items that everyone has come to know and love about the store mixed with the Parisian flair that makes Colette the boutique that all of the cool chicks flock to when they're in the city of lights.

Unfortunately, though, the exclusive fashion booty being sold inside the store can only be purchased at the swanky location, which means you either need to pray a friend sends you a nice little care package full of limited-edition tees from the shop or pray someone sets up a nice little store on eBay. Fingers crossed!

Dress of the day: Boatneck shift dress by Gap

Filed under: Clothing, Dresses, Must Haves

We believe this shift from The Gap will be a part of your wardrobe for years to come because it's the perfect little black dress to build on. Its classic styling and simplicity gives you a lot to work with - a statement belt or a vintage scarf will instantly transform it, and of course, a smoking hot pair of shoes will do the same. Best of all? It's machine washable, so say goodbye to your dry cleaners for once!

First Look: Gap Fall 2008

Say what you will about Gap and its otherwise boring seperates, but the company is hell bent on making a comeback this year, and in some weird and very strange way, we're kind of glad.

Sure. We can find comfy tees anywhere, but there's something really charming about Gap and its determination to redefine American classics that won't allow us to root against its brand or its new creative director, Patrick Robinson.

Recently, Vogue.TV caught up with the man-about-town to talk to him about the upcoming fall Gap collection, which is available for purchase right now online. If you're a fan of the 90s grudge style, but don't want to look like you smell, you'll find tons of pieces in this line to shape your winter wardrobe with.

Meanwhile, in the clip, watch Patrick talk about how awesome he hopes to make Gap in the future. Love.

Happy Shopping!
